1. About the Wargame Cup.
1.1. Focus Home Interactive (the organizer) presents the “Wargame Cup” – the official competition of the video game Wargame European Escalation on PC, powered by Intel®.
1.2. The competition will happen from the 16th of November 2012 to December 2012.
1.3. Focus Home Interactive reserves the right to change the dates of the competition at any time.
2. How to join.
2.1. Competition is open to any person aged 16 years or over. Members of the Organizers and its subsidiaries, employees of Focus Home Interactive, Eugen Systems and their families (same name, same mailing address) are excluded.
2.2. To join the competition, players have to be registered on the official forum (
http://www.wargame-ee.com/forum/) with a valid email address, and mention their in-game name in the Registration Thread of the Wargame Cup section (
viewtopic.php?f=75&t=15467).
3. Tournament.
The first stage will begin on November 16th, 2012.
The competition will be following the single-elimination tournament rules.
4. Organization of the Wargame Cup.
4.1. All stages will be governed by the rules set out by Focus Home Interactive.
4.2. Each participant must be registered on the official forum with a valid email address.
4.3. Formula:
- 1vs1
- Time Mode: 40 min
- 1500 points per player
- Map rotation: Storm Eye, Fulda, Hells Highway, Rivers of Blood, Blitz, Mecklenburg, Straight Ahead
5. Deck selection.
There is no restriction on deck. You may create a new deck, or use an existing deck.
6. Discipline & Arbitration.
6.1. Focus Home Interactive reserves the right to request the details of matches for each participant to study the course of the players, in order to determine if any unfair behavior or gameplay has occurred.
6.2. Any players suspected of unfair behavior or gameplay will be disqualified from the Wargame Cup.
6.3. Unfair behavior or gameplay includes but is not limited to such actions as: match fixing, intentional disconnecting, third party program. The final decision regarding unfair behavior or gameplay will remain at the discretion of the organizers.
6.4. In case of non-intentional disconnection, the match may be played again at the discretion of the concerned players.
7. Awards and prizes.
- The Winner of the Wargame Cup will receive:
- $2,500 USD
- an Ultrabook™ (value ~$1,500 USD)
- a copy of Wargame AirLand Battle when it releases
- a VIP access to coming Wargame AirLand Battle beta
- a Wargame AirLand Battle t-shirt
- The runner-up will receive:
- $1,500 USD
- an Ultrabook™ (value ~$1,500 USD)
- a copy of Wargame AirLand Battle when it releases
- a VIP access to coming Wargame AirLand Battle beta
- a Wargame AirLand Battle t-shirt
- The 3rd place will receive:
- $700 USD
- an Ultrabook™ (value ~$1,500 USD)
- a copy of Wargame AirLand Battle when it releases
- a VIP access to coming Wargame AirLand Battle beta
- a Wargame AirLand Battle t-shirt
- The 4th place will receive:
- $300 USD
- a copy of Wargame AirLand Battle when it releases
- a VIP access to coming Wargame AirLand Battle beta
- a Wargame AirLand Battle t-shirt
- 1 Ultrabook™ (value ~$1,500 USD) will be distributed through lottery, among the winners of the 1st round. This lottery will be held after the final has been played. The winner, runner-up and 3rd place player of the Wargame Cup will be excluded from the draw.
- A copy of Wargame AirLand Battle will be awarded to all quarterfinalists when the game releases.
- A VIP access to coming Wargame AirLand Battle beta will be awarded to all players reaching the 32nd-finals.
- 50 Focus Home Interactive games (digital download on Steam®) will be distributed through lottery after every round among the winners of the concerned rounds, until the 32nd-finals noninclusive. Each of these lotteries will be held after the winners of the concerned rounds are known.
- All players reaching the 2nd round will be awarded a digital version of a Focus Home Interactive PC game (digital version on Steam®).
- 20 Wargame AirLand Battle t-shirts will be distributed through lottery, among all the participants. This lottery will be held after the final has been played.
8. About the prizes.
8.1. Notification of the winners and validation of prizes
Winners will be notified of their prizes by email.
- Winners of one of the Ultrabook™ and/or one of the Wargame AirLand Battle t-shirts will have to mail back, within the specified time, the following information: their full name and their postal address.
- Winners of one of the cash prizes will have to send back by post or by e-mail, within the specified time, the following documents: photocopy of identity card, bank account details, and postal address.
8.2. Prize giving considerations.
Failure to comply with any provision of these rules will result in automatic disqualification from the “Wargame Cup” competition. Any prizes due to a participant may be awarded to another participant. Focus Home Interactive reserves the right to determine who this participant is. This decision will be taken in a spirit of fairness and any other considerations it deems appropriate regarding the competition.
Focus Home Interactive and Eugen Systems are not required to respond to requests from participants (written, by mail, by fax, or by telephone) concerning how the game works or the interpretation or application of these rules, including after the end of the game.
Prize allocations cannot lead to any disputes or claims of any kind. The winners agree to not seek the liability of the organizer with regard to the winnings. The organizer will not be liable for any incidents or accidents that may occur regarding the use of the prize money.
8.3. Disqualification and Forfeits.
If a recipient of a prize provides false or inaccurate information about him/herself, Focus Home Interactive reserves the right to disqualify the player from the” Wargame Cup”.
9. Liability.
The organizer shall not incur any liability if, due to force majeure, events beyond their control, or events justified as necessary, it had to cancel, shorten, extend, or modify the terms of the game.
The organizer will not be liable for any Internet malfunction that prevents the game from running smoothly, particularly due to malicious external acts. The organizer cannot be held liable if one or more participants are unable to connect to the game sites due to a technical problem or any problem related to high network traffic. The organizer makes every reasonable effort to provide available and tested tools and/or information to the users, but it cannot be held responsible for errors (such as any information on the games website or the sending of erroneous e-mails to participants), a lack of available information and/or the presence of a virus on the site, any Internet malfunction that prevents the game from running smoothly, interruptions, data transmission delays, computer failures, telephone failures, modem failures, failures in the player’s telephone line, software failures, the loss of any e-mail, and more generally, the loss of any data, the consequences of any virus, computer bug, anomaly, technical failure, or any damage caused to a participant’s computer, or any technical, hardware or software failure of any kind, that may prevent or limit a player’s ability to participate in the game or may damage their system. Each participant is responsible for taking the appropriate steps to protect their own data and/or software that is stored on their computer and telephone equipment against any attack. Connecting to the site and participating in the game is done under an individual’s sole responsibility.
The organizer may cancel or suspend all or part of the game if it appears that any form of fraud has occurred, particularly computer fraud related to participating in the game. In this situation, it reserves the right to not award prizes for Unfair Game Play and/or to prosecute those responsible for the fraud before the courts.
In the event of a delay, strike, or acts disrupting the delivery of postal or electronic mail or causing such mail to be lost, Focus home Interactive shall not be held liable for the consequences. Any claims must be made by the mail recipients directly to the companies responsible for the delivery.
Focus Home Interactive is not liable for:
• Any incident regarding the use of the prize money,
• Malicious activity,
• Problems with the telephone or Internet connection or with mail delivery,
• Hardware or software problems,
• Problems accessing the game server,
• The destruction of information provided by participants for reasons not attributable to Focus Home Interactive,
• The malfunction of software or hardware,
• Human errors or electrical problems,
• Disturbances that may affect how the game performs.
In any event, if the game cannot technically and/or administratively run smoothly due to a virus, computer bug, unauthorized activity, or any other cause unrelated to Focus Home Interactive, the company reserves the right to interrupt the game.
Similarly, participation in the game implies the knowledge and acceptance of the characteristics and limitations of the Internet, the lack of protection for some data against possible hacking or piracy, and the risk of contamination from any viruses circulated on the network, or any other problem related to mail.
10. Data Privacy.
Information provided by the players during game participation kept by Focus Home Interactive, the organizer (your full name, address, and other data) is required for participation in the game and for the awarding of prize money. Focus Home Interactive may use this information for the purposes of publicity, such as name, age, location for the purposes of marketing on the internet and in publications, and any other purpose. Focus Home Interactive will not share this data. At any time, participants may be given the right to access, correct, and delete data concerning them by writing to Focus Home Interactive – 100 avenue du Général Leclerc 93692 PANTIN CEDEX.
11. Wargame Cup rules.
Participation in the Wargame Cup means you accept these rules.
12. Applicable law and jurisdiction.
These rules are subject to French law. Any issue related to the use, interpretation, or effects of these rules shall be settled by the organizer.
13. Interpretation of these rules.
13.1. Participation in the Wargame Cup implies full and complete acceptance of the terms set forth within these rules. For and after the game, the organizer will not answer any questions regarding the practical terms of the game.
13.2. The organizer will decide on any potential issues related to the application of these rules or any question that may arise that is not addressed by the rules. These decisions shall be final.
13.3. Any fraud or failure to comply with these rules shall lead to the disqualification of the personal responsible from the Wargame Cup.
13.4. To maintain the smooth running of the competition, if something arises that is or is not covered by these rules, the organizers reserves the right to amend all or part of the said rules.
