I really have enough of 1v1 ranked - there are enough threads on this, that it's usually rush or camp and when a camping match starts the one who gets bored first and attacks loses.

This is all a real shame because wargame has everything to make it a perfect strategy game - the game mechanics are all in order.

The problem is the victory condition of 1500 points = win/lose. This makes it possible to completely dominate the map both sector and unitwise but not wanting to risk attacking because one shot down Leo2 or T-80 can make all the difference between winning and losing. This is simply stupid, and I have now decided to stopped playing ranked (as many others have obviously too, when you look at the ratio of ranked/fun players in multiplayer).

To make a long story short: is Eugen planning a change in the victory conditions? (there are many ideas floating around, the best IMHO being counting deployment points for victory points - making territorial gain and contest attractive - and raising the 1500 point limit.

Cheers,
Corra

I've almost never played ranked because of the victory condition imposed.

However time based match are a lot of fun. A 3v3 with 333/500 points per player is realy fun. The lack of early ressources forces some kind of technological progress along the game. And capturing sectors is realy important.

In a more ranked-like way : starting with 1500 points and having to reach 2500 is good as well for the same reason : capturing sectors is important, thus the attacker is rewarded.

i believe this point was made several time... but the developers have yet to explain why it can't or hasn't been implemented; it makes sense, even if for every 30 seconds of control you gain that much in you points - or even 15 or minute - it doesnt matter... but it would do 2 important things:

1. Create momentum... since the game is set to a time limit, it is imperative that both teams move forward; furthermore it would drive more players to push their lines forward - which in all essesnce - is the point of a war game.

2. Speading of units... as it stands, with the set number of units you get at deployment, you can easily camp your main sector or closest ones and win. Now if your opponet is rewarded with map control, you would have to move forward - spreading out some of your units - and thus not be able stack a defensive sector with tons of units. (yes arty works well in breaking it up a stacked defender, but any defender in his right mind would be using it too, and a few lucky hits would change the points in a way that attacking is actually a worst strategy.

I still want my infinite req points mode. Also the objectives from single player. I'm also willing to pay money for them if it comes to that, as long as I don't have to wait for half a year for them.

diana, could you share some strategies so I may continue to enjoy the game?

As soon as I encounter a recon forward then arty barrage player I feel stumped. Needless to say, I am NOT talking about arty noobs but about people who do have a well set up defense (4 heavy tanks, some missiles etc), so that when you charge in you get slaughtered.

so the alternative seems to be: play slow, get artied, play fast, run into the "attack trap" and lose points quickly.

so please share some strat tips if this game mode makes it for you, its nearly a deal breaker for me.

turn around? think "by the bias"

Use deep strike to attack arty. That for what the amx 32 are made.

if your opponent have arty and heavy there are weak point... use them...

Win the reco war, If you know where he is, youknow where he isn't. that the point.

All this game is about MOVEMENT. somebody who stopped is somebody who is dying...
