Yup. Or the Leo's were damaged, or they gave side armour hits, or they had morale damage. All sorts of stuff can turn this in favour of the T-80Us, but in a straight head-to-head fight the T-80Us don't stand a chance.

Maybe some magical side-shot crit situation with well seperated T-80Us and the Leos in a 4 group, and the non-targeted 80U being one accurate, lucky mofo.

But yea, 320 points =/= 590.

I personally think PACT tanks very effective. I'm using my T-80's often and the base T-80 can kill a M1 Abrams and the T-80A can already kill the M1A1 already since you can get 1 very crippling atgm shot to the M1A1 and the main gun with its damage and ROF kill easily that crippled M1A1. T-80A can also beat those Leo 2a1s and 2a3s. Only threat for you is the Leopard 2A4 or to some extent Challengers. But the T-80BV, T-80U can rival them. T-72B is a good tank for dealing damage since it has good Svir ATGMS and a fairly accurate for a PACT tank accuracy and really good main gun with beast ROF, AP damage and Range. Problem is its stupid frontal armor makes it quite fragile. The T-64 series is very potent to as you can kill some heavy tanks due to the ATGMs they carry (KOBRA) and they can carry alot of them at 1 time.

One tank i see people overlooking is the T62M-1, it has an incredibly effective ATGM that i rarely see miss.

Well because you can call in many cheap kpz T72G with average armor,gun,speed,not too short fuel range and 28 can be called in compared to 16 of T72 A also some might think T72G is a good tank sounds like an upgraded T72 in my opinion

T62 M bla is too expensive for so low armor and 4 numb is not good. Alos for 95 points you canl call in 1 T64bv and a T55

T62M - A crap gun and crap stats but a deadly atgm. In the defense great.
T72B - A tank with risks of being weaker than the Nato counterparts, still owns any tank below Leo2A4 and challenger 1. Quite cheap for 120p and an awesome fuel/range economy. Abrams and weaker Leo2s will fear its atgm.
T64BV - Arguably the best tank, the weaker T64A can serve on the sides of the BV.
T80 variants - If you are willing to pay the price, and to have a unit that will cost you the match if you loose it, it is superb.
T55amv1 - A great versatile medium tank, cheap as well.
All T62 apart from the M version - crap. Go for a T55 instead. Never ever use stock T64.
All T72 apart from the B version - crap. slightly better in performance than a T62 but the higher price makes it worthless again.

Zhalo - Not really a tank but a gun on wheels, still good cannon fodder to distract fire from the better pact tanks. Kills off all those nasty vehicles and AA, soft targets. I prefer the recoilless rifle uaz.

However a tank is only as good as you use it, as the enemy counters it, as much luck you have, and the fewer yours rout and the more they rout.

T-72B is overpriced for what you get out of it. At 7 frontal armor, it gets its teeth kicked in by the majority of the NATO heavy tanks. Don't know what you've been smoking, Orange.

The ATGM isn't much of a threat to heavy tanks as it'll only get to shoot one before the enemy is in gun range. The cheaper T-72s are actually pretty decent at soaking damage as a screen for your heavy tanks - and if they choose to shoot your heavies instead the T-72s will do more than enough damage if they let them get close.

What really cripples the mid range pact tanks, in my opinion, is their horrible accuracy. A Challenger or Leo2A4 can easily shrug off most ATGMs and when those get in gunrange its game over for pact tanks. As pact i usualy use meatshield tanks (stock t-72/T-55) to soak up damage to give the high end tanks a fair chance to get a kill (ATGMs demands to be stationary after all). For NATO this is not really needed because 4 Leo2A4, Challies or Abrams can soak up quite some damage while shooting on the move and a volley from 4 guns with deadeye accuracy beats any ATGM platform. Both Pact and NATO demand different tactics.
Soviet tanks are all effective if used to their strenght, but whatever you do, they all need support.

T-55x: Usefull in huge numbers to rush or to beat some rushes and as meatshields while AMV-1 is a good ATGM platform for its price.
T-62x: Pretty much like T-55s. The high end T-62s shine as stationary ATGM platforms though and their cannons are a lot better than T-55s. If you dont bother with many tank slots in your deck these are a good choise and fill many roles, if you go for high end tanks anyway i wouldnt use them.
T-64x: Good workhorses, with good average stats but all versions suffer from weak side armor. T-64bv is arguably the most cost efficient tank in Pact arsenal.
T-72x: Dont have much love for them except the stock T-72 as meatshield (they are faster than T-55 and can keep up with T-80s quite well, also the armor is much better).
T-80x: Everything is said about those. T-80U is a beast, but 2 of them wont outduell 4 Leo2A4s or Challies on even ground. They will need support.

Have a Challanger or Leo2A4 fight warpac atgm launchers standing on a 2-3km line that concentrates fire and see if you can say that again. Chally and Leo2 survives 9 (!) hits to the front but only 3 to the side for Chally and 1 for Leo2. You'll hit side armour if you're 15-20 degrees off center so spreading out is key in dealing with them.
