Would a better alternative be to increase the range of the KPVT to 1500 meters?

I dont think the gap between 12.7mm and 14.5 is enough to justify the AP 1 increase. I'd second a boost in range though, the 14.5mm is really a formidable caliber of weapon that isnt nearly as well known as others.

1500m range for KPV sounds nice, but I'm very wary about it since it might give it an unexpectedly high AP boost at close range. It would make up for the lack of cheap autocannons on the PACT side for sure at least!

The fact that the KPVT is so weak in this game bugs since a long time. It's a very powerful mg and I think it should be more powerful because at this time, it's actually weaker than a DSHK 12,7 mm MG from 1938 ... I thought about the +1 AP, but I'm not sure it's possible since all autocannon have actually 1 AP and it would bugs me even more. I think a range increase to something like 1500 meters would be the best solution, but it should be accompagned by a boost of range for all shilkas except the afghanistanki variant to 1750 meters. Otherwise, the ZPTU-4 will become too powerful in comparison to the shilka and the weakness of the the later was already underserved.

Why not the Afghanskii? It still only has a 1200 meter range against ground targets.

They think shilka will be too good. But i doubt even range buff significantly help shilka.

Because it's a ground warfare autocannon and they all seem to have 1575 meters range. I find quite ridiculous that it's actually better than the base shilka variants at firing against aircraft while it has no radar. It should be a ground support vehicule and be no better at shooting down aircrafts than the average AMX-10P.

And about the shilka being too good, it will simply bring it somewhat in the category of the vulcan while the shilka is actually almost useless presently. It's not even realistic because it was a dangerous AA gun in real life. The AA shilkas need a boost.
