Because in general it's not really about strategy, I'm bumping this old thread (http://www.wargame-ee.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3648) here.

Quote:
Hey!

Some of you gamers might know Advanced Tactical Center (It was pretty popular for BF2, download here: http://www.playprepared.com/). It is a free tool to prepare battle plans. So I created a gamepack for our game.

It includes:

- All the game maps on satellite view from NATO perspective. [note: Still trying to find a way to get rid of the UI but keeping the objectives before including PACT-side view, so for now I'm using Brundle's screens -thanks-]

- Every nation flag (In order to help differentiate players: Telling who is what flag, and who starts where)

- NATO units symbols for each general unit category in two different colours to represent hostile and friendly units. [will be fine tuned]

In order to get the gamepack, go to "manage gamepacks" -> "import" and type the code.

What it looks like (if done rough)

Version 0.3 for now. Code is: 66CB6F

Incoming:
- Upgraded maps to show from each starting point of view.
- UI-free maps.
- Units-free maps.
- Better national flags

By the ways, would it be possible for the devs to tell me how to get rid of the UI, unit symbols, but to keep the Objectives' names?

Feedback/suggestions would be welcome.

[edit: New version: 0.4. code still the same 66CB6F. Added non siege maps (Blitz, eye of the storm, etc...)

Please report any issues and additions you want.

I like it.
But I feel this would not be followed by teammates., and it's impossible to predict the enemy's movement

I very much dig the flag idea however.

yeah, this is a really neat program (and I use it when the opportunity arises), but it absolutely isnt practical at all really for general use.

Well, If you have a team, you can build "standard" strategies and general positioning on most maps ahead. If you have planned games against other teams, it's pretty neat.

Remember that you can save and post the pictures of your plans, without anyone joining, so you can share that way.

Little walkthrough in order to post your plans (I use GIMP but you probably can use Photoshop):

In order to do that:

- Draw your plan (don't forget labels) in ATC,
- "save" on the top right when you are happy with the plan,
- Pick the original map on the internet (look in the WIKI http://www.wargame-wiki.com/Main_Page for them),
- open the original map in PHOTOSHOP or GIMP or other similar programs,
- open as layers the saved file of your plan,
- go to (On GIMP) colors -> color to alpha -> Ok,
- go to Layer -> merge down,
- Save the picture,
- Host it on your preferred hosting website.

With the ATC version 1.0 (installed today) there is another button called
'Export'. You can save direct the whole plan as JPEG (don't forget the extension!).

Thanks for your work! :D

Maps:
Can you please make a new screen shot from the map 'The last base' without the
menu? I have disabled it with the ^-key and press than the print key.
It would be nice to have from every start zone a close-up picture for planning the start. ;)

Icons:
I think, you should take the game icons. You placed new one, I think it is not so
good. I have copied them from the PDF-Manual with XnView.
It would be nice to have some icons with numbers. Not all, but the most important.
(Game with AI, place some tanks, print key, XnView, ready. 8-) )

Just tested it out, it's awesome, thanks for the hard work.

Too bad that the prod menu is open on the last maps though...

I will redo the screenshots on monday: I can't right now.

I couldn't find the In-game icons. Maybe if someone could tell me a way to find them? These were hadn made.

! The white = transparent in the program. It's kind o a bother.
