I'm sure many of you RTS veterans have played or at least heard of Sudden Strike with its haydays after the release of Sudden Strike Forever?
What made this game so great in my mind was how multiplayer worked, where you were given certain units as predetermined by the mapmaker. And that reinforcements were only received over time as the game went on or when you captured a combination of territory (flags) in the field.
The benefits of this system over selecting your own units are that any kind of abusive spam or what have you is eliminated as you get a set of units and you have to work with that. Obviously the mapmaker had to do some balancing there to make sure that each side has a fair amount and quality of stuff.
It also allows for a more realistic/historical approach to mapmaking where you might have a lot more of the cheap content instead of only the high end tanks for example. Thus seeing a clash of bigger armies on the field where outmanouvering is more important then establishing a front line and calling in arty.
I would love to see this as a new game mode in this game personally.

I think it will give a new challenge to the game where you have get the most out of the units that you get. Being a real commander that doesnt just gets whatever he wants, but has to deal with what he has received.

Win conditions could be the capturing of all territory or the elimination of the enemy's units, where I guess the first is more likely to happen considering the way woods work in this game.
