Very true.

The maximum level is really pointless, level does not say anything at all about your skill level, but a lot of hosts does not seem to understand that. A high level means you may have unlocked a lot of units and (should) have some experience but you can have lost every game up to where you are now. And since some people never play ranked, they might not have a ranking. And since you can unlock enough units for a decent deck just by playing the campaign, level does not matter that much in that aspect either.

If people truly fear to meet players that might be better than themselves, a more serious way to display a hint of your skill level would be to show a players % win/loss, average score or something similar. Like in starcraft (looked like 1-4-3, wins-draw-losses). Gave you an idea what kind of skill you were up against, but you had no idea of the quality of the opponents in those scores. Level alone means nothing.

This is the only type of lobby worth going to in general.

W/D/L is a silly stat becasue it doesn't take into account opponent skill and lobby games aren't meant to be "serious". I often use national decks in lobby games, for example, and I'd hate to have a W/D/L stat hanging around my head for these games when I'm not really trying very hard. Much better is Elo. I'm not really sure why more people don't play ranked games to be honest.

You pretty much nailed it OP. You should also add

Fun game, everyone join! : One side is already full of a clan ready to pubstomp

Also what is the deal with high levels joining low level games? If I make a game called lowbies, no high levels and yet a lot of 40+ keeps joining. My god is this community one of the worst ones I've ever seen.

Thanks for slagging the community for obvious deficiencies in lobby and game set-up controls. (ie. things out of control of the community)

Perhaps it would be a golden middle road to not display level at all, because all it does is delaying the start of new games.

Regarding ranked games, the reason I avoid it is because I consider myself to be mediocre player and do not want to carry around a sign reminding me of it all the time. Sort of the same reason that some people dislike W/D/L.
I want to enjoy a mixed game with not too much pressure and not being kicked out before the game starts just because I have a too high level.

Each to their own I guess. I was just suggesting a small idea.
