New NATO player here. I've played two online matches so far, one ranked, and both times I've used the Kiowa Warrior to good effect, sniping tanks, APCs, and even AA (killed a tunguska), thanks to those Hellfires.

The question I have is, could I be doing better with another scout or scout/cheap ATGM chopper combo? The hellfires are nice, but I notice that I'm pretty skittish with my Kiowa Warriors, pulling them back the moment I think something might hurt them (I always have another scout chopper, like a Gazelle or a non-hellfire Kiowa because of this).

Also, about the hellfires, I've seen on here that they have "fire-and-forget" capability. I know what that means in real life, but does it mean I can pop up from behind a hill with my Warriors, spot a couple of tanks, fire some hellfires, get the hell out of dodge before they hit, and still score kills? Does the accuracy of the missiles go down if I break visual contact? Can I spot a tank in some woods, launch a hellfire, pull away and loose visual, and still pop him?

For command truck hunting I recomend you Gazelle (excepcional optics, a little rocket pod and lesa expensive)

For fire and forget yes you can, ... for other ATGM you need constant Line os Sight and to not move or it would everytime loss is target...

For hellfire, you only need to fire...

Also need a bit of micro against low armour units: You have to switch off the weapon before it shoots its second hellfire, or it'll go to waste.

I figured that much out when my Kiowa Warrior fired three hellfires at one tank, and of course, killed it with the first one. Still, I want to know if I should stick with my Kiowa Warriors, or if I should try using a cheaper scout helicopter and an ATGM chopper like the Gazelle HOT or something.

Also, how would you deal with a PACT tank line and their ATGMs? Right now I have this half-baked idea that involves getting a few fast autocannon vehicles (like, say Weisels), charging them at the tanks to draw missiles, stun-lock, and chew up infantry. Right after their charge, I would send tanks with good stabs (like the Abrams) immediately behind them, with a couple of Rolands to discourage choppers.

And now I remember all the talk about the Buritano, and I wonder if that would chew up this plan completely.

This is sort of a good idea. The huge problem with Weasels is that they have almost NO fuel capacity and a large burn rate. It's not easy to keep them fueled even with supply vehicles. How it is that Weasels burn more fuel than Abrams I have no idea...

I think you'd be better off with rifle squads in APCs.

Buratinos are very unpleasant but they seem to be hurt by low firing rate. You could rush just after one fired.

I never use Weasels, as you said they are too short ranged and their autogun is widly unaccurate. The Luchs is much better, but more expansive.

20mm Weasels are great for very cheap starting zone defense and for popping up on his backfield if you get a reinforcement line nearby. They're great for screening Marders or other, and they absolutely tear up infantry up close.

Trust me, it's not that slow to reload. Also, unless he messed up his first shot, you will not be going anywhere fast!

about kiowa hellfire, yup they are good but i prefer to have a recon gazelle + hot gazelle for the same tactical weapon cheaper + faster + more versatility + in case of sniping sam you can save one of them.

ok range and accuracy is better on kiowa, its like apache 'without fire and forget system' that why i thinks its only usefull in 3v3/4v4 otherwise i prefer mixing gazelle recon/hot
