Wow...didn't really have the time/chance to hit the forums yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by the post, interest and views!

Genosse and I are chatting in the background regarding the balance issue and want to have an announcement up ASAP regarding this. Hopefully this will coincide with a group PM with confirmations of team/nations.

Once the sides are set, I highly recommend that you use the PM system to msg back and forth within your own team to talk about strategies and set the side's hierarchic.

More soon!

PS. The Steam group name is "Wargame Historical Society". We've been having fantastic pick-up games with normal decks for the last few nights. So even if you can't make the main event, feel free to join the group for some great fights.

What about an own forum for that project? We would have much more free space to write and share thoughts then and also can set up proper permissions once the teams are set. I think one can make this project up pretty big, just like my beloved Project Reality Tournament for BF2 :P
I think one could easily apply the main idea of it for this game as well, imho it would actually suit it perfectly. I would also be willing to commit some time to it, in case any more bodies for administrative tasks would be needed, though it would be mostly in the evening (18:00+ GMT+1 timezone) and on weekends.

In case you never played the Project Reality Tournament Campaigns (that would be a shame really :P) I can also elaborate more on the style of it ;-)

That's great to hear, daZza, your expertise should be an asset going forward. We've talked about a forum and agree it's a must as long as this little group of interest survives and grows. I think if we get through 2 or 3 weeks of battles, testing, kicking around ideas, and people are still engaged, we'll outgrow this thread and you'll see us going independent pretty quickly.

Based on better than expected response from you guys, I'm optimistic!

We are mulling a site/forums over at the moment but are going to wait and see where this goes first (1-3 weekends) before investing a lot of time into these endeavors. These niche concepts (Nation/OOB/etc) also are going to be added/hindered by the mod tools and the next patch so...also a wait and see on that.

Thanks for your offer though! You may be take-up on it!

edit: Genosse beat me to it!

If they will release mod tools this idea will even grow more awesome (:
You could then fully live the idea of PRT / persistent "World Conquer Mode", as you an easily give penaltys for losing certain territorys to simulate the cut of supply lines and give bonuses for holding certain territorys, etc. or block the use of reinforcements calling for a certain amount of time to simulate that an territory is completly surrounded by enemy territories and reinforcements need time to cut through, etc.

Any idea when the tools will come and in which "language" they will be?

Sounds fun, I'm in. Coming from West Germany, that's probably the most natural army to play, but I don't really care as, long as I get to know in advance, so I can unlock a few more units (as I'm not yet lvl 200 I haven't unlocked all just yet ;-))

Opus, what's the buzz on patch changes and mod capabilities, or do we have no concrete details? All of my forum time has been taken up by keeping things moving along here.

Zip! Not a word even with other threads running with people begging for just a hint of what's to come...

Bah, in that case I'll keep my hopes for more fleshed out nations and robust mod tools at zero and be thrilled later if they indeed show up.

Just to let everyone know, Genosse and I should be setting the map, starting/ending points and nation exceptions by tonight. This should allow for a good chunk of time for each team to set a leader (if desired) and work on strategy.

Also, count on two games being played on Sunday. There might be slight differences between game settings but the map/teams/nations will stay the same.

Going to be gooooooooooood......!
