Quote from Wikipedia:

"World War III (Der Dritte Weltkrieg) is a 1998 German television ZDF's mockumentary, directed by Robert Stone. It depicts what might have transpired had Soviet troops opened fire on demonstrators in Berlin in the fall of 1989 and precipitated World War III. The film mixes real footage of world leaders with mock interviews of citizens, soldiers and political aides."

This is old stuff. Completly free on youtube. Unfortunately, as it was made in the 1990s, it seems to have been recorded with analoge tech, so quality isnt that great. But still well worth watching. It gives a good atmospheric impression and feels somewhat real due to the participation of famous journalists in the making and cut-together scenes of real politicians of that time etc.

This documentary is overoptimistic in ability of NATO powers to react pollitically (as in reinforcing the forces in W.Germany), stop WP forces in the first days of war, and the importance of air power.

Good propaganda movie though.

P.s. this is neither relevant to the 1975-1985 time scale of WEE.

Yes, I agree with your statement. Its a film made by the west. ;)

Also notice that the major driver of aggression of course is the Sowjet Union.
I personally doubt they would ever have attacked. But maybe thats just me. :D

Soviet union would have premted the attack by NATO (or a similar event) by its own, lesson learned from WW2.

The War Game is a 1965 television documentary-style drama depicting the effects of nuclear war on Britain. Written, directed, and produced by Peter Watkins for the BBC's The Wednesday Play anthology series, it caused dismay within the BBC and in government and was withdrawn from television transmission on 6 August 1965 (the twentieth anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing). The Corporation said that "the effect of the film has been judged by the BBC to be too horrifying for the medium of broadcasting". However, it had some distribution in cinemas and won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 1966. But it remained unshown in full on British television until 1985.

My mistake :P And my favorite French one: http://www.military-today.com/missiles/pluton.htm

Wonder how widely publicized its actual range was at the time? I imagine that'd have kinda irked West Germany to know they'd be falling in their yard!

Agreed. That said, it's mind-numbingly painful to watch some of these films and how the producers fail to perform proper research prior to production. Soviet doctrine called for the immediate and deliberate use of chemical weapons should hostilities commence, not only military targets (personnel/instillation's), but also on civilian infrastructure in some cases. We knew that (NATO), they knew we knew that, and stated NATO doctrine called for retaliatory strikes through the use of battlefield nuclear weapons.

Either way, if it had occurred, most of Central and Western Europe, the former Soviet Union, and North America would be a nice big parking lot right now.
