We're going to try to organize a clan wars and challenges as soon as possible!

Please sign up your clans in this thread! Please give your input and add your clans in this thread. Give the clan name(duh), in game names for the leaders or main and maybe steam name would be good too, as sometimes noticing that little 1 in the chat box thing is hard.

Add me! Steam and in-game name is: olafshruber

We’d use a simple single or double elimination method for the clan wars. We can also create different leagues, where some games will be based on destruction and others on time, adding variety and difficulty.

The rules so far we have been using in our clan wars were 1500 per player, victory conditions points equal to starting points(4500 = 4500, 3000=3000 etc). The destruction would be anything of 2v2 to 4v4.

For the time ones the starting points would also be 1500 per player and time would be 30 minutes, or we can see if a time based on number of players(2v2=20 min, 3v3=25 etc.) would be better.

For the 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 games there would be allowed a restart if one or more players drop before game starts. Up to 5 minutes after start, if player drops it will be on to the opposing team’s discretion whether to restart, after 5 minutes all drops will be null and void reasons for restart.

These are just the base rules that can be worked out better, but there seems to be consensus for points per player rule so that probably won't change.

Challenges will be simply that when clans that sign up can be challenged by another clan during anytime of the week to play, they don't have to accept the challenge but this is to stimulate the clan community in W:EE

We'll see if we can organize with the Forum admins if they can create a section dedicated exclusively to Clan Wars.

If we get enough interested teams, we have a consensus on rules and time it should be held, we'll try to organize players etc. some clan wars tournaments as soon as possible!

DOGs of War would be interested, I can't commit until I have a team set up and ready, however a few members have shown interest.

As Diana said, we haven't really started any group training yet at the LVA, but hell, we can still take part of a clan war :)

If you think you're not yet ready... don't worry because nobody really is... The next 2-3 weeks will be where we have irregular inter-clan battles, and after then when rules and schedules are worked out we can create a solid "clan wars" i.e. on weekends.

I encourage all clans who are willing to participate to get the other signed up clans to a challenge - just a friendly clan fight at a random time. You should use the standard rules - 1500 points per player, but as to the victory condition I leave that to you.

That said I need to sign up my own clan XD
RNT - Road Not Taken
steam/game id: olafshruber - some guy(me)
steam/game id: Prolifik - leader

I believe there's a post about this but if new starting clans lack a voice communication system(TS, Vent) contact me or prolifik steam/in-game and we will gladly allocate space in our own TS for duration of clan fights(challenges) and clan battles. Also everyone is welcome to pop on to say hello or to set up clan wars. If we get enough traffic we'll create a separate room just for the organization of the clan challenge fights.

TS - ts45.gameservers.com:9151

This would also be a great time for starting clans to hone in their skills. A defeat can be a better learning experience than a victory!

I will talk to the peeps that I play with, but I am sure that they will want to participate. Softly consider Spearhead in for these events.

Add/PM - Klaxius, Drunkdriver, Cdub82, Mujahid or other Spearhead members you may have run across.

How many tournament trees are you planning? Your original suggestion would result into 6 different trees with time and points x 2v2 to 4v4 = 2 x 3 = 6. Just one format as an over-the-weekend deal sounds quite workable if you're willing to put effort into running it (The Art of War clan was running a big one in WiC a few times - it was a big effort but also a very nice event for the clan community).

Points based games seem to be most popular by far in public games. But there is an issue whether you'd need to increase the victory condition by 500 or 1000 points to allow control zones to matter in the game, which also helps to prevent stagnation. For a one-day tournament, time-based would have a huge advantage because game lenght is remotely predictable, allowing you to actually run rounds.

1500 points per player sounds good, as something between 1000 and 2000 points feels well playable. You could alternate the amount a bit in order to make for some variety. Eg. have one 2v2 format with 3500 points total (20 minutes) and one 3v3 format with 4000 points total (5000pts for victory).
