try take a look at the fuel use for some of the units. its kind a lame that you cant move move then a few hundred meters before tanks have to refuel and yes if your trying to say " but its realism " tanks in WW II and today can go more then afew hundred . we are talking kilometres and miles. and the scale on the maps dont give you the impression that its more then 3-5 km/ 2-3Miles wide

I like that your units can get minor problems like get stuck and such, but do it have to happen every 2sec a unit have moves anywhere ells then on a road ?

Well, making it "realistic" would basically take fuel out of the game.

I really think smoke should be implemented. I know I can manuever my units around them by hopping terrain but at key points, I think it's rudimentary for many units with smoke dischargers to lay down smoke.

Different artillery rounds. HE, Smoke, flares, etc.

Blocking annoying people from joining your game [as host]. Some people dont understand when you dont want to play with them and keep joining even after numerous kicks...

I miss some unit "history" like in RUSE to know more about the unit IRL (like MadMat has done in his Game art and Unit of the day topics)

What would you like to know? fas.org has some very good articles about practically every piece of equipment in the game, so does Wikipedia. USA is split into multiple articles, but you should get a good jump-off point from that one.

http://www.fas.org/programs/ssp/man/index.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_eq ... und_Forces
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_e ... _of_Poland
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_e ... #Equipment
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_e ... ny#Weapons
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_e ... ed_Kingdom
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_e ... _of_France
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cu ... d_vehicles
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Pact
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nato

Jane's is always good, but it's not free. They got some of the books about vehicles, however.

If you want to read army training manuals (which cover all sorts of interesting topics):

http://www.enlisted.info/field-manuals/

Try FM 7-92, Chapter 4 or FM 23-25, Chapter 6 for examples.

Or if you're interested in slightly larger and more varied topics, try Parameters.

http://www.carlisle.army.mil/usawc/Parameters/

A few classic books on the topic of war:

http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/132
http://www.clausewitz.com/readings/OnWar1873/TOC.htm
http://www.amazon.co.uk/History-Warfare ... 184413749X

And on the lighter side:

http://www.amazon.com/Red-Storm-Rising- ... 748&sr=8-1
http://www.amazon.com/Team-Yankee-Harol ... t_ep_dpt_1

Hope those get you started. Feel free to ask if something is missing.

If someone knows a place where I can find translated WP manuals and white papers I'd love to read them.

edit:

Also, "Battle Book" should be mandatory reading to everyone who plays W:EE. It covers most everything necessary.

I would like some way to quickly know distances. Maybe a 1km2 grid overlaid on the Sat View map. I was playing on Hell's Highways, had some Leo 2's overlooking the valley, and was checking their line of fire when I discovered the valley was over 3km wide. The second suggestion is related also to the large maps, which I absoluelty LOVE, but as Hob_Gadling suggested we need to remove the unit cap. Lastly, again along the same lines, I would like to see more points available. Some of us grognards want to play against one another and lead a Soviet MRR into the breach :D

Yup this. And before somebody says that it's impossible again, you can just have a number of different indicators showing at what range different unit sizes are detected. So one line for "very small" units, then outside that another for "small", and so on.

Just putting this here again because it's the dedicated feedback thread.

Also a unit facing command is a must.

I agree with the guy who said that the gameplay is incredible, but the UI could use a little work.

Has a units capacity to hear another unit been factored in?

If an infantry unit is in cover and a tank rumbles by and you have switched weapons off it would be good to have an exclamation mark indicator appear (maybe an 'enemy spotted' noise) and a yellow flash like the red action flash that occurs now. This obviously also works for LoS. I like to put units in forests and switch weapons off and then ambush as they've gone by. Unfortunately you have to constantly micro manage the units to ensure they are looking the right way. Sometimes recon units simply miss hordes of tanks less than a 100m away.

It doesn't have to be too complicated. If an infantry unit is within 200m it can hear a tank, 100m for a jeep, 50 for other infantry. At dusk / night as sounds travel farther then so does the range that they can hear. You could even lay down mics in areas like you would with trip mines and flares.

Also, they turn to face the unit, ready for action.

Not sure if there is an option to fire, return fire only, only fire when selected options available.

I definitely think a closer look at CoH and TW2 could make this game epic. They definitely need to look at unit placing and formations and an on screen indicator that can be switched on/off for units to see if it's in range.

Controlling an individual unit like in Soldiers would also be great.

I think the game is innovative enough to be able to handle the thought of cherry picking the best ideas from other games.

I know it's a bit Men of War and CoH but the ability to dig a trench / dig in if under attack. Also, retreating infantry units could set up claymores and mines to halt an attack.

The fuel is unrealistic. If a unit doesn't run out in real life it shouldn't in the game. Trying to manage ammo is difficult enough.

Ability to capture units if there units are damaged. Then use engineers to restore these once brought back to base, this could be done off screen so base building isn't brought in. Once you have the tecnology, you don't need to level up. Would save the whole nato / warsaw pact issue of people choosing to only play with one faction. Would also change the whole dynamic if you had to battle to save an apache from falling into enemy hands as you knew they had a points advantage but weren'rt as skilled, levels the playing field a bit I reckon.

Let's hope that Eugen have the devs and allow the modding to make all of these ideas happen. It seems like there is a great community already building here and implementing these ideas could create an excellent product that could be adored for years to come.

Cheers

I loved the beta but I would suggest a few things.

1. when you stack commands using shift have some way of showing the commands that are stacked. A good example of this is the RTS Star Craft Two Wings Of Liberty, when you stack commands in this game using shift lines are drawn that show you the stacked commands.

2. A deselect hotkey.

3. Reinforcement indicators or an easier way to show exactly which route the reinforcements you call in will come from.
