Hi,
As you know, squads in
Wargame are differenciated one from another through their squad leader's name. And each name is generated from a table depending of its nationality ...
So, if you think you've got what it takes to become squad leaders and lead a squad of your nation's army in W:AB, just write your name here (or by MP to me if you really don't want to disclose it on the forum) with the list you wan't to be part of.
The lists of names are:
-
same nations as W:EE:
UK
US
German (same for both BRD & DDR)
Polish
Soviet
Czechoslovakian
French
-
new nations in W:AB:
Swedish
Danish
Norwegian
Canadian (shall be an even mix of French & English names, for the
5 CBMG earmarked for Norway was the Quebec's brigade reinforced with "English" assets).
This thread should remind something to W:EE's veterans. However, since we've decided to "clean" our lists, make sure to "re-enlist" if you want your name in W:AB too ...
We can't write Russian/Polish/Czechoslovakian/Swedish/... special accent (diacritics, ...) on our French keyboards, nor non-roman (classical) letters like the German "ß", Swedish "Ø", ... but we can copy/paste them without problem. So feel free to use them.
So, you just tell us in which list you want to appear. Please just try to remain logical, even if you're fond of the Soviet army but you're called McAdam ...
On the other hand, any Mediterranean names could fit well in the US or French list, and the same goes for pretty much any name which should fit in one or the other's list.
Also, we can't attach a name to a given unit, so no need to tell us you want to be a Delta Force, we can't promise that, and you may end up driving an Abrams.
It is random.
Before you start giving names, lets just set a few rules:
-
only one name per post and only one post per person. If several are given, we won't take any.
-
only one country list per name.
-
no nicknames
- use Roman alphabet, not cyrillic or other alphabets.
- don't give us your favorite TV character's name, it is not the point of this thread.
- don't hide insults in language, we'll have them checked anyway ...
Enlistment is now open.
EDIT:
As of now (May 5th), the lists are made up of the following names (open the spoiler tab for each list). Check that yours isn't already there before proposing a name:
NATO
UK
US
French
Swedish
Danish
Norwegian
Canadian
On both sides of the Iron Curtain
German (both BRD & DDR)
WARSAW PACT
Polish
Soviet
Czechoslovakian
