Yeah, i love this post and the idea behind that.
If you win, you will gain points based on your position in ladder and/or the elo difference between you and your opponent/(s).
If you lose, you will gain a little amount of points "for encouragement" so you will always receive something from a game.
Ranked matches can give a reasonable bonus for each winners and losers.
Leavers gains always zero points.

On WEE, a mix between this and the elo system could work nice.

I think the main problem is: In other RTS-Games the ranked game is the most important part of the multiplayer (total war, starcraft 2), but in WEE it's only "addition" to the normal hosted games.

TOTAL AGREE WITH THIS !!! It was a main problem in RUSE too and i allways told the Eugen System Stuff (and Alexis too :lol: )

I think the problem is not really on the ranked system...

It is on the fact that there is nothing that reward you for playing Ranked game...

In most RTS games, there is no "reward" for playing ranked save for the ability to have a higher rating. The incentive to play ranked games is that the games are ranked. I get more pleasure out of ranked games because there is a seriousness to them. You're playing for something that's kind of tangible.

Why would a 1500 ELO player click ranked again after I won the battle 1500+ - Nil? It has happened a few times... It is that or 1500+ to 100-300 points.

So many times players will just quit the round after getting matched with me or complain about the match-making system... Your solution to this is to wait and hope that it fixes its self? I do not know what to say beyond coming across as rude and crass.

@Shanks Right.. but there are a COMPETITIVE community around those sport...

As an example, SC 2...

There is three important thing that lead people play ranked.
1) You need a good league to enter a good clan...
2)You need a good league to participate to Tournament!
3) So people are fighting for good league so YOU want to show you are a good one when those people play against you and say :" Oh! a noob" cause you are silver....

I think one of the problems people don´t tend to play ranking is the fact that you already got "levels" beside your name from playing unranked games. Same was it in RUSE !

People want to show that they are good and in most other RTS you get a decent level only by playing ranked games.
In W:EE getting a high level is just a matter of playing many many games. It´s not a sign of how good they are nor if they are skilled. It just says that the play a lot !

In other RTS a high level number shows respect because you are a top ladder player and therefore you know what you are doing.

I remember back in WC3 times, where you were afraid of guys entering a match having a high level.
I don´t understand why Eugen don´t do it the same way, maybe people would play ranked more then...

And ranked games in 2v2 / 3v3 / 4v4 is really important to keep clans for a long time in the game.
Clans want to compete with their teams in ranked games!

That was the reason why we left RUSE !!!

Well, that is another problem in WEE, the Eugen net doesn't really live to our expectations.
The only thing it allows is creating a clan and adding friends, but what we really need is to be able to see the list of clans, the ranking of the clans, the ability to challenge other clans and create tournaments directly in the game.

Ranked games still classify people individually, what's the point in playing 3v3/4v4 with clanmates then? There should be a clan ranking, with clan stats, win/loss ratio, etc...

I know this is Eugens first shot at making an in-game community support with nice features, lets just hope it improves over time.

Eugen have gold in there hands, they make wonderful games, I loved every single one of them (apart from Times in conflict which I didn't play ^^) but it always seems they lack a little something to make them perfect in every aspect.
