What is the international viewpoint on the current situation taht is developing here. Personally I feel as though Kim Jong Un is like every other ditator in that he has spent his entire life in his own country and therefore believes that the world revolves around him. It seems to me that history has a funny way of repeating itself in that dictators like to talk a big game but when it comes down to actual military action they are extremely hesitant. People in power do not like to lose it and if they attack the South there isa reasonable probability that Kim Jong Un would no longer be in control of the North.
But thats just my view, any others?

It's just more of the same old extortion. They haven't had a "functional" economy since the USSR stopped subsidizing them.

Nevertheless, if Kim Jong Un and the generals feel threatened, I'd get a little nervous...

Apparently it got better in the last years, when they started to sell raw materials to China.

I did not.

It was very bad in 90s (with starvation). At the moment it is better due to the spread of grey capitalism.

Watching Propaganda videos is fun.

When I reading old ZVO articles you can always see "political part" of the article and how the writers did not place much effort into it.

This is all a way for Kim to show his subjects he is boss, it's already getting boring, but I guess after Chavez's death the world needed a new "oh look I oppose the Empire" poser in the international stage.
