If only WEE models were like that.
T80U would be fun to have with BMP3 though.

Flew the free Su25 tonight (yes, free everyone) and it was fun. A bit like a bus and nothing like the A10 but nice and fast...even got her down on the first try but the read gear might need a bit of straightening...and 2 new tired...

Fun...

Tomorrow, weapons!

Any tips for aiming AP rounds? I cannot get those damned things to hit the broadside of a barn outside of 2km on less than level ground.

M1A1 owning a T80? In keeping with this forum's philosophy, I would like to express our general opinion on the incident with this picture./jk

I assume not all planes will have the same amount of detail the A10 had in DCS: A-10C Warthog, but what about the A10 itself? Will it be...sort of...simplified?

Depends on the situation and M1A1 variant. M1A1HA is a whole different thing and tactics also make the difference.

Actually I have a post up at DCS about this. It took a few shots to learn the retarded sight in the T80 (DCS's sight, not the real T80s I'm sure) but once you get it you can duplicate you shots..

Image

That's a shot at about 5800m at a M113 Vulcan. When I say duplicate, what I mean is based on the sight's range marking, you can easily repeat the shot...not that the ranging marks actually mean anything. As you can see, the target has no elevation change and the barrel is barely raised and set to what I take as approximately 7.5(?) somethings (parsecs?).

Ok...just realized this is a useless post. Tips? Watch for the round's splashes and adjust accordingly. Or wait until I hear back from their forum.

The T80 owning was with a TOW not an Abe so I hope ikalugin can accept that.

The SU25 is much simpler than the A10 with literally 2 keystrokes needed to get moving from the ramp. I suspect that IRL it's a wee bit more complicated than that so your suspicions might be correct.

The A10 is still the A10 in all its painful complexities. I think the Toad was just ported from Flaming Cliffs with no mouse-toggle switches as in the A10. It's still complex though and I'm not looking forward to learning the weapons but do expect it to be easier than the Hog.

I can accept any case of T80U death, as all tanks have their weak areas and such (even the holy IS2).

That said, which TOW variant was that, where did it hit?

p.s. I want my obj 477 and 195 regardless :)

Not sure as it's just listed and the HUMVEE M1045 TOW.

Generally I was aiming for the rear half by the treads but at that range aiming at anything specific is abstract at best.

Ahahaha, if I could see their wonky impact. The only confirmation I'm getting of hits is when someone starts plinking my tank. xD

So far I've been dealing with the NATO/Abrams style sight, I haven't really messed around with much Russian items quite yet.

Also, while those range markings may not work for tanks, but they've been assisting me in anything that's got an autocannon quite a bit.

Their appears to be different damage sections as to how much a shot might do to the units total HP ala Wargame, but no true sectionalized damage, I blasted a T-55 from the rear with an autocannon, whereas meanwhile I've seen T-80Us take several TOWs (from the front). At the moment, I don't think there's much difference between tank A and tank B unless it equips something different (weapon-wise).
