I have installed and re installed the game about 5 times, I have the latest audio drivers, which are about 10 days old.

I have made sure the game is not muted in windows or in the game settings.

Sound in other games is fine, sound in windows is fine.

I have a dxdiag but not sure how to attach it since .txt attachments are not allowed

Please disable audio enhancements in windows 7:

1. Click Windows Start button then Control Panel.
2. Click Hardware and Sound.
3. Click Manage audio devices under the Sound section.
4. Right mouse click the default audio device (Realtek HD Speakers) and click Properties.
5. Click Enhancements tab and check Disable all enhancement then click Apply button.
6. Click Advanced tab and select 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality) under Default Format section then click Apply button.
7. Click OK button to close the Properties window.
8. Run Wargame European Escalation.
9. Press Alt and Tab keys to display the Windows Desktop.
10. Click Adjust system volume under the Sound section from the Hardware and Sound window.
11. Check if Wargame European Escalation has modified or not the sound volume.

ok did all of the above to the letter, still no sound at all, and wargame doesnt show up in the volume mixer just the main speaker slider and system sounds

So? any other advice? or Should I just try to get a refund? because It is not worth playing in silence

I ran into the same problem (W:EE was running perfectly before). I reinstalled my DirectX Runtime from the W:EE Steam folder and things returned to normal.
