I don't know for NATO. Probably the RISE Patton? Good stab, AP, Acc and price.

But for PACT it's probably the T-72G

Stop laughing!

At 40 points a pop you can easily buy a ton of them at the start of a match or during one with your income and use them for a mass attack backing up your T80U's, they should roll in first, preferably down a road for better speed and be used to swarm enemy heavies and take out other targets. With their AP7 rounds they can easily hit side armor for massive damage once they get close. For a medium tank you're really looking for one thing, highest AP at the cheapest price. The T72 delivers. On the defensive, these tanks hidden in a forest or on a reverse slope will also lay out some serious hurt to whatever falls into the trap.

For NATO, I'd say the M60A1 RISE Patton, because of its great 7 accuracy, 7 AP, normal stabilizer main gun. The Leopard 1 series is indeed armored, but the stabilizer is worse and the accuracy is terrible, meaning you'd have to close in to actually be effective with the gun (or have a significant veterancy), thereby nullifying the armor advantage. The AMX-30B Valorisé is a close second to the RISE Patton, because of its approximatively equal main gun, autocannon, slightly superior speed and good fuel efficiency. However, the lack of stabilizer is a great problem, and if you want to flank with it with maximum effectiveness, you'd have to stop just a few tenths a second before firing then keep moving.

For PACT, I'd say the T-55AMV-1 ; the armor is decent, the main gun is decent, the speed is decent, the fuel economy is good, and you've got a decent ATGM on top of it, all of this in a 45 points package.

I like the T-64A a whole lot in this role. It also gives access to tanks of most roles from medium to heavy tanks with 1 unit slot. You gotta be aware of the weak side armor tough.

T-64A - 55 points
Primary Slot Secondary Slot
Name 2A46 NSVT
Type 125mm 12.7mm
Range 1925 1226
Accuracy 6 3
Ap Power 7 0
He Power 4 1
RoF 10/min 500/min
Ammo 25 rounds 300 rounds

Size Normal
Speed 65km/h
Armour 5 Front / 2 Side / 1 Top / 1 Rear
Stabilizer None
Optics Poor
Operational Range 500km
Fuel Capacity 2000L

Tried the T-72A with vet2 until I realized it costs as much as a T-80. The great fuel economy and AP power sure make it interesting. But then again there are so many drawbacks, mostly hurts the very low RoF. A pact tank without RoF 10/min is not an option for me.

As for NATO I really like the Valorise vet1 and the MBT-70. Didn't really get that fond with the patton series although I'd prefer it over a lot of the other Nato tanks.

The T-64A is good but not quite good enough for it's points I feel. However that 10RoF is great I must admit. I'll have to give using them in place of the T-72G's a go...

The role of the T72A is an odd one actually. It really serves as a "cavalry tank" due to it's amazing fuel efficiency and range. Quite good for attack up a flank or for if you want your screening tanks to not need refueling after each attack. However the lack of range on the main gun really hurts it and the cost just edges over into "inefficient" territory for my tastes.

one vote for T-64A, for T-64A in-game model looks better, and 10round/min is great! The only drawback is -1 frontal armor~

but why don't you use the high end tanks( of course not the T-72B) , they are great~

PS:I personally bias T-72, but EUG made a poor T-72 model

Are you talking about the heavy tanks? Of course they're good, but that's not what the thread is about.

Depends what you want it for.

For me it's:

NATO
Leo1 - fair armour, decent speed, fair gun. A very average tank (talking the 1A3 up, the ones below that are rubbish)
Patton - Rise Patton in particular, think it's a bit underpriced tbh.

Pact
T-55 - fair ATGM for 45, or a trash tank that's good at killing other trash (eg. a small infantry flank)
T-72 - good armour for 45.
T-64 - jack of all trades. Only use the T-64A.

T-62M because of the ATGM and price/efficiency.

You're welcome.
