Sometimes, I wonder if this community deserves the said game...
I'd say, rather move along if the models are so bad, so you could leave people who are enjoying themselves praise the devs for the work they've been through. But I am quite sure that they'll be happy to receive your own homemade model of tanks and AA trucks so they can integrate them.

Seriously people, get a life, or at least stop raining on honest people's parade.

Until we get mod tools we have all the right to point out the little mistakes with hopes of their improvement.

Бросаются в глаза неточности моделей советских вертолётов Ми-24.
The gun on Mi-24VP is not Gsh-30k, like on mi-24P. Mi-24VP has double barreled 23mm Gsh-23L which is nose mounted like on Mi-24V

In game Mi-24VP and Mi-24P have the same hull mounted Gsh-30k which is not correct.

The correct Mi-24P

Next are the ATGM's on Mi-24V.

4 positional ATGM mounts dont exist, but there are 8 positional mounts from 1984 onwards.

S-13 rocket pod mounted on Mi-24P and Mi-28 looks very different IRL. This photo has has both rocket pods, left is the S-8 (in game its weirdly called C-5 57mm caliber), and right is the S-13 122mm caliber (in game it looks like the S-5)

From the russian forum. Roughly translated by me.

There are 4-tube launchers for ATGM's in the Russian arsenal. IIRC, they were primarily designed for the Ka-29TB assault helicopter, though I've also seen pictures of them on Mi-8MT's. I don't know when they actually came into operation, though.

Here's one on a Ka-29TB.

With regards to the Mi-24V armament, it should probably look more like this:

Why dont you post these in the Hind thread? I know it became a tank debate, but still.
I remember another thread where someone pointed the devs to wrong gun and rocket configuration for different hind models. So they should be already aware of this.

The Hind thread got derailed in the first 5 pages, so no need to post it there. Also, I have not seen another thread that points at the heli mistakes, sorry if this is a repost.

Anyhow,

I have seen either 2 ATGM or 8 ATGM mounts for the Mi-24's. 2 being the most used as it is Shturm, 8 ATGM's are ataka's. I have only seen 4 ATGM mounts on Mi-8MTV and I think that K-28TB on the picture uses the same ones, however the TB is only a prototype.

I thought that having 2x4 ATGM mounts on better Hinds instead of 2x8 was more to do with balance. You could provide them with higher missile capacity, but then you have to increase the price and you are getting a bit too close to the Havoc. I might be completely wrong on that, but I always assumed that balancing the game takes priority over realistic unit stats/ammo capacity etc.

As for the models. Yes, some of them are pretty bad and I'd like to see better ones. But it is a very minor point. It does bug me a bit knowing that those mistakes are there, but in actual MP (or even most anti-AI games) gameplay I never zoom in to the level where I could tell a difference between a T64 and a T80 or even an Abrams.

Maybe a unit pack or skin pack for an extra 2-5£ on Steam is the way the solve this problem. The devs got tons of details correct and having them do a lot of extra work for free, to improve what basically amounts to cosmetics, is a bit too much.

Well, you see Urobulos, Mi-24V has six hardpoints. Sturm has two rockets per mount. Ataka's with 8 rockets per mount were realistically introduced in 1994 and therefore are out of the game's time interval.

As Xeno has pointed out, a proper in game Mi-24V would look like this. You can surely notice that the amount of ATGM's does not increase from the in game's amount, thus the balancing changes are not needed.

It is a minor thing, but one of the selling points of this game was "incredibly spectacular and realistic visual experience" and "highly detailed models of more than 300 different playable units". I know it never said "accurate" models anywhere, but I believe that comes with a realistic visual experience. If you are going to make models and realism an important point selling point, then why not strive for excellence in that.

While not exactly an issue with 3D models in particular, what's with the Paladin's zoomed-out skin? The entire M109 series suffers from this.

that's my 5 cents: If the devs want to create a model of 6x6 Kamaz with ZU-23-2, I suppose it should be Kamaz - 4310. Here is a blueprint http://aralex.ru/images/CH_kamaz_4310_bort.jpg and some photos http://images.yandex.ru/yandsearch?text=%D0%BA%D0%B0%D0%BC%D0%B0%D0%B7%204310&stype=image&lr=6&noreask=1 of 4310. I hope that would be helpful for modelling.
