Hey, what tanks do you guys use as PACT? I find that a tough decision, esp. after the t62m nerf of the latest patch

I love the PACT tanks. Mostly because of their general purpose use as opposed to the more specified roles of the NATO ones.

The T-64B is my workhorse tank. A reasonable price for a tank with a great main gun and ATGMs to boot to help take down the bigger NATO vehicles. Has good speed, too, but suffers from weak armour everywhere except the front. That's not such a worry for me, though, since I use them mainly as a flanking vehicle. After spotting a massing enemy force with my recon, I position these tanks to sweep up behind and/or on the flanks once the enemy begins to move.

I tend to have polish/czech infantry form a screen for 4-6 T-55 AMIs, supported by strop IIs or tunguskas. if i suspect the enemy of using air ill throw in a vet III buk system. Usually have one burratino to clear out blobs, and 4-6 kolos trucks for supply

Once late in the game I will rely more on the Mi-26 for logistics (seriously, its amazing if you protect it well) and I start to clear up with whatever I haven't killed yet with infantry detachments with TO-55s - clearing out woods and what not.

Very rarely rely on long range arty, just feels to vulnerable.

It is a force whose commander pays little to no attention to the relative positioning of units resulting in something mostly resembling a pile

Infantry: Attack, ATGM's are your tank killers, get some missile armed IFV's as well, some anti-air people are good as well

Helicopters: Anything with anti tank missiles and a gun, you need ones with loads of missiles like Havoc and Apache, use them at a distance so they don't get taken out by small arms.

Tanks: Pact, most are expendable and often have missiles so they are quite good at attacking, missile armed tanks are some of the best in the game, avoid lower ones they are too weak to be very useful apart for spam tactics

NATO: better at defence, position in cover to guard open ground, no missiles :( but good armour, accuracy, good gun dmg, and nice armour or nice speed

Logistic: get the helo's, although they cannot enter woods they move faster and don't need to use roads

Support: I prefer gun armed anti air as it uses less resources, as far as arty goes big guns over missiles for me

Recon: I usually use an IFV rather than a dedicated recon, recon helicopters are good

I'm primarily a Pact player, and prefer a mixed and balanced force.

For non 1v1 (I'll refer to it as multi), my starting force will be mid to high quality, mid to high tier for inf and tank, artillery will always be a battery of 4 top vet guns, maybe a unit of 2 smerch or burratino, depending on map and points - again, top quality. I always have a good air defense, with the heavier rocket only units in the log area, and the mobile force based on a couple of tunguskas.

Virtually every game I bring along inf-atgm and inf-aa. Never discount those guys. By repositing the vehicles away from them, it reduces their spottability, and they can generally be expected to take down far more points than their initial cost. I'm a great believer in the value of any of the Pact bmp's, with a bit of veterancy...but don't expect them to be tanks, but as flankers and supports for the grunts they are good value.

For reinforcements, I tend towards high vet t55's and bmp1 inf. You can bring on lots, fairly rapidly depending on how the game has played out, and you can bog opponents down while racking up some decent kills...the T55's are good value as flankers, and they will chew up French armour, anything light, and distract most heavy stuff for the kill to come in from something else. Backed up with good accurate artillery, high vet T55's and mech inf can achieve far more than what would be usual - stunned units are food for those guys.

No doubts people will disagree with me, but I'm flexible, and nothing is hard and fast in this game.

I saw in the replay of Tigga vs fiva55 how the former used a line of Tunguskas to 'tank the damage' from Roland missiles being fired at Mi-17 helicopters?

Big question - WHAT?

How and why would Roland missiles hit Tunguskas in the forest instead of the Mi-17s they are launched at?!
