I think that they are supposed to follow the idea of the Saracens being easily airborne. It's like the VDV, they should be able to have something else than helicopters, but they are supposed to be "airborne".

Very good guide, choosing infantry is the hardest for my deck

I'll never considered having LAAD blowpipe in my deck
How do you use them?
do you spread all across the map as a cheap recon?

Current INF in deck:
2e rep FAMAS (PUMA)
Chasseurs FAMAS (VAB)
ATGM Milan F2 (VAB)
Delta Force (UH-XX)
Fernspäher (TPz Fuchs)

Legion FAMAS (AMX-10P)
Panzergrenadier (TPz Fuchs)
get swapped in a lot

Do you think the german APC (M113GA1) should be 5pts
M113GA1 v TPz Fuchs
speed: 50km v 105km
OP Range: 500km v 800km
Fuel: 350L v 500L

The only different between & the USA 10pt APC
Weapon:
M113GA1= MMG (701m)
M113A2= HMG (1226m)

The blowpipes are a good pain in the butt as for 10 points with the transports they can easily force an opponent that's not spamming air to fall back for repairs. I just send them in individual squads all over the map in every woods/hedge that's in my way. It's more of an harrassement and low quality recon unit. The kind of annoyance that causes the opponent to make mistakes (like shelling the whole forest, costing a lot of supplies). And prevents him from approaching with air unoticed, though IT IS IMPORTANT that the nemy never identifies them.

Your current infantry looks a lot like my initial one, though Fernspäher are kind of a double for your 2e REP if you use them as recon. If you use them with the Chasseurs it's cool though.

Overall, the M113 chassis is terrible. It should be 5 or 0 points in my opinion due to the range and speed, at least. Sure, it has a decent gun and armour, but it's never any use: Nobody throws helicopters above an infnatry infested forest anyway, and most command vehicles can run away from them. If you can't reach the target, it's jsut so much scrap metal.

I believe I'm rocking the following.

Fusiliers (Spartan)
Green Jackets (Spartan)
Paratroopers (Lynx)
ATGM Milan F2 (AMX10)

It's only four, but I needed deck slots elsewhere :/. I'm tempted to swith the ATGM to the Vab and add Legion Famas in the AMX10 as shock infantry, but then I'm duplicating capabilities with the Paratroopers. I like having some of airborne choice though.

@Uniform: get Delta Force they are AWESOME!

@DeuZerre: used the Blowpipes last few round and you've converted me
swapped out the 2e Rep Famas for them
I like they way they can scare of Helicopters with their missiles
or the pilots are silly enough to fly near them they get destroyed
& surpised the SAMs can actually hit.

I believe LAAD Blowpipes are a better value than Redeye's. When vetted slightly, they're more accurate at the same cost.

@DeuZerre:
I believe I said this before, but in my opinion, this is how M113's pricing should be:
M113A1: 4-5 points
M113A2: 7 points
M113A3: 10 points

Those 5-point leaps only hurt the balance of low cost unitsas they can't be given their real worth given their actual performance. Another case in point: BTR - the most expensive variant costs 20 pts. Crazy!

So true. I honestly don't know why they did this (I have a clue mind you) as it really can muck-up the lower end units...
