The Wiesel. A 15 point autocannon is pretty good...until it fails to reach the first capture zone because its fuel economy is absolutely terrible. The only role they have is dedicated base defense, but there are dozens of units who do the same thing and are able to actually maneuver.

The only success I had with it was blowing up marauding spetznaz teams attacking the FoB area, and it ran out of fuel repeatedly.

i wholeheartedly disagree. the mtlb strela10 is my favorite pact antiair vehicle and it never really disappointed me so far. yes, tunguska and strop2 might be way better but i just love that sleek mtlb design with its rockets mounted on top. also, it's fairly cost effective and got more rockets than most other aa-vehicles like tunguska, osa or strop2

btw, you're underestimating the zsu-57-2. when massed (and it can be massed as it's very cheap) you can down incoming helis relatively fast for a cannon-based aa

They can also kill Leopard 2's reasonably easily in the right situations. They stun their targets quickly, have great range, and they're cheap!

In fact, all AAA have HMG range against ground units (1226m).

The only advantages the Strela-10 has over the OSA AKM are more missiles and 1 point more armor. For a slower speed, shorter weapon range and less missile damage you have to pay 5 points more. If they brought the Strela-10's accuracy to be in line with the Strela-3 (a contemporary missile), it'd be worth it.
It also rather bugs me that the Osa is listed as an "Infrared" missile when it is really RFCLOS (Radio Frequency Command Line of Sight).

The reason I consider the strela useless are, as said above: Poor range (most helicopters can shoot at them with rocket, stunning them, rendering them useless), horribad accuracy (can be vetted but will still be a supplies drainer), slow speed (that doesn't compensate it's range) for one advantage: A huge amount of missiles. It's great when it manages to hit, but sadly, it is sub-par compared to anything else (especially STROP 2).

True, the baasic AA will be efficient when spammed, but will die to anything fired at it.

On the topic of AA Missiles im suprised they didnt include the SA-9 on BRDM. It could have been a fast, decent ranged AA unit that would be cheap.

the Abbot.

At 40 points each, you can get a fair few of them compared to the more powerful arty, meaning you can have groups of these running around behind your lines firing into enemy forces attacking, i use them alot actually, and if you want, you can get 16 of them for the price of a few mlrs's, but these 16 will litterally run off 2 or 3 fobs the entire game alongside the rest of the army and not require fobs of their own. And ofcourse, these guys provide alot of close range fire support easily with little to no risk of FF and can put down alot more sustained fire for less cost and supply. And obviously, means you dont need to defend your arty in "main", these are cheap enough to be front line units.

Aren't they just HE4 mortars with terrible ROF?

I have tried to put the Abbot to use, but not in the numbers you describe. Used in a frontline manner i would say 1AMX auf1 > 3 abbots.

They are HE 4 at 2/3 rounds per minute and 40 rounds carried. The M106s do the same damage at 6 rounds a minute and hold 90 rounds. Abbots fire 12000m but when using arty of that sort range doesnt matter IMO.

Reading all these posts about Strelas and Osas as primary SAMs makes me realize why im seeing so many command vehicles sniped.
