Greetings comrades,
as a representative of the former state of Czechoslovakia and a member of the Czech Armed Forces I would like to see a more complete selection of ČSLA units in the deck builder.
At this stage of the game it is impossible to form a ČSLA-only deck, which is a shame because the ČSLA was the most unique army of the Warsaw pact because of their customized vehicles and infantry.
From the technical perspective, the addition of the few extra units would only be a matter of retexturing.

For instance - the most awkward moment is when ČSLA mechanized infantry is delivered to the battledield by a Russian speaking BMP. We had our own BVPs for example.

Here is a list of the units NOT in the game that were used by ČSLA during the Cold War era:

BVP-1, BVP-2 (same as their Russian counterparts only with CZ markings, commander versions were also fielded)
PT-76
T-54/55/56 (AM versions)
T-34/85 (Replaced by T-54s)
T-72M (Most commonly used tank. M stands for MODERNIZOVANÝ (Modernised) Uparmored version with better optics and engine - equal to T-80UK tanks)
UAZ-469 - Used as a recce/command jeep. Still in active service
GAZ-69 - Outdated command vehicle
URAL-375 - Bought from Uralvagonzavod
Praga V3S - Logistic support truck. Still used today
ČSLA had highly skilled sapper/engineer units - They are not in the game
OT-90 - 14,5mm KPVT BMP
BRDM-2 - Used as ATGM or Command vehicles
122mm RM-70 GRAD - Heavy rocket artillery
3M9 KUB - AA Missile
9M32 Strela Crews are not available from the infantry tab
Mi-24 (V,P variants)
Mi-8/17 - used as armed transport helicopter
Mi-2 - Command helicopter

Now this might seem like an overkill, but we'd like to have a full ČSLA deck to play with. This would be a fine addition to a future content patch along with making amphibious transports able to swim (Noticed they cannot swim when I was fooling around with BMPs).

We would really like to see this change in the game, because WEE is the only RTS where ČSLA or even Czech units themselves are actively represented so it would be a shame if they were only a minor faction when they had hundreds of thousands men serving.

Anyway, we wish you the best with the game and are looking forward to the release!

Best regards,
121. PPAZ

Hi I would like to support this proposal. as the Czech People's Army at that time a lot of tanks, soldiers, helicopters, etc. and so this game is a quarter of it. So would be good to add more units as he wrote Comrade Thorvald.

PS: sorry for my bad English

We were known for having our own vehicles and weaponry instead of buying everything from soviet union. I am bumping this with the utmost urgency and need of fixing the wronged!

Even if we were part of the eastern block we never wanted that much of soviet influence in our country. This is going to be awesome game but don't let inaccurate units ruin it whole.

Thank you.

Most of these units are already in the game. There's no point having duplicates just so that they could have ČSLA markings. Just use them and pretend they're speaking czech :)

Isn't this one already ingame? Or is it a different RM-70 from ours?
Presently, it is considered an upgraded variant of the Soviet BM-21 Grad.

OT-90

Isn't that a post-1989 variant of the BMP/BVP-1? Wargame is set in 1975-1985.

Most units you're mentionning are already present in the Soviet armory only under different names.
We did take into account the ČSLA's technical independance by fielding its special vehicles everytime we could: RM-70, DANA, Praga, Strop, Vydra, ... but duplicating all the WP armory four time would have been too much.

Yes OT-90 (hence the name) is modification of BMP (or rather BVP in czech) introtuced in early nineties due to the need to reduce amount of armour with heavy guns. What I think Thorvald is trying to say is that there are few "recycled" pieces of wargear for other nations(for example east germany mi 24 and west germany M113) which adds that extra little flavour to the game - and since this option is not present for czechoslovaks at all, thats why we think that it might be pretty cool (and also fair) if at least one or two such "recycled" units were introtuced for CSLA too, or some new - slightly modified pieces like czech command armour - BVP or/and czech recon (jeep/armour) instead.

I agree that it would be a mess if all states would have own marked soviet vehicles under different names, but there already are East German units that have only different name and markings (or am I missing something?). As said OT+90 would not fit in the game. One of possible vehicles could be T-54/55AM1 which had modernized czechoslovakian fire system KLADIVO. Praga V3S was (is) also vehicle that was (is) used in large numbers (more than T813). Also existed command variants of OT-62 and OT-64.

EDIT: I have read on valka.cz that t-72Ms produced in Czechoslovakia were used by East Germany. So DDR had same tanks but ingame are represented only their tanks.

To show examples of Czechoslovak modifications of first series of BMP (or OT-70):

BVP-1 as standart most similiar version to russian BMP (same weapons a little different dimensions)
BVP-1 K as command vehicle modification
BPzV as recon vehicle modification
VPV as wrecking wehicle (un-stuck) modification
ShM - 120 as mobile mortar...

...list could continue throught rescue/medical/communication variants which would not suit the game mechanics such as it is now.

Its just an example of one thing. BMPs were not imported from other countries - they were all made in Czechoslovakia with some modifications and many of them were actually exported. If I remember well Czechoslovakian BMPs were also a bit shorter and lower.

I'm all for this idea, some more Czech specific units would be great. Then again, I'm biased lol.
