It constant stuns though, you can lock down any ground force like AA or tanks until you run out of ammo, great for assisting ground forces like slow moving infantry without halftracks so they can run up and kill it without it shooting back or getting away. The grenade launcher is the best part about the heli that the cobra doesn't have.

The UH-1M gunship is way better than the Cobra, I only use them as air as their anti-ground forces weapons are way superior.

The Heavy Hog, not only is it cheap but is equipped with rocket pods and a nose mounted grenade launcher. The thing will make short work of lightly armored vehicles and against tanks it has the unique ability the 'stun' over and over. If you need to assault AA units, the Hog is best because it can lock down the target while ground or other air forces can come in and finish. One of the best nato support aircraft we have.

Pretty sure people are talking about the final unit in that line, which is literally a Cobra but missing a rocket pod and with half the speed. It's worse than the Heavy Hog which is 5 points cheaper, which seems really odd.

Go ahead with that, I'll just use my Hogs to stun T80s while I rush a single squad of infantry forward and pop them all ^^

Can't force you to use them, but they are the greatest air asset for their price that Nato has, much better than anything Warsaw can field.

What part of "It's a Cobra but worse" didn't you get?

It's the same price with absolutely no redeeming qualities (except for 50km more range oh boy!!) and is outmatched by earlier units in its own line. I mean you can like the Hog and Heavy Hog all you want, they're good units, but the UH-1M is not.

The damn thing is called the "Heavy Hog". That alone is worth purchasing it.

The only positive thing I can see is the fact you save 1 slot.

And of course the slightly better operational range.

In terms of health I've no clue. I guess they're both the same.

They're useful if you run out of cobras in the campaign. I won the final mission of the first campaign by going around killing the command units with a pack of these.

I've never had Cobra or Apache in my NATO decks, I'm fonder of small helos like the Gazelle, Kiowa or Bo-105.

The US Hog/Heavy Hog/Gunship serie should not be regarded as "helos" like the others: for me, they are flying MLRS. Hogs and alikes are perfect to fire at the unseen. When I know a wood is cramed with troops, I send a couple of Hvy Hog and order a "Fire at position". Then I send the fast infantry transport (Légion in VAB, Jäger in Fuchs or British Paratroopers in Spartan) to seize the position from the stunned defender.

IRL, the "gunship" Huey were refered as A.R.A., which stands for "Aerial Rocket Artillery". So don't see them as chopper, but as direct fire MLRS. ;)
