:D

Still, to just sit there on the west of the map as a horde of Soviet tanks are obliterated by nuclear mines would be pretty damned satisfactory 8-)

Odd, isn't there Centurion tanks quite fitting in this game? I think I might mentioned it somewhere before. :?

Nah. The Chieftain began replacing the Centurion as an MBT in the sixties. By the seventies I don't think we had we had any Centurions left at all in the MBT role, although some did soldier on into the 21st century as specialist vehicles.

Not even in the reserves? I could've sworn I read there are some still in active service, or was that in another country?

Definitely not Centurions, even Chieftain AVREs and specialist vehicles are gone, I think.

One Centurion BARV (02 ZR 77) built in the period 1944-46 remained in service until 2005, making it the longest serving armoured vehicle in the British Forces, having served in the Falklands and both Gulf Wars.

But Centurions tanks are definitely not in service, even with the reserves. There may be a few specialist Chieftain varients, but even most of those are gone I think.

i believe the SPAAG marksman varients were still in use, which i think the british deck needs for it to be a viable option

Out of curiosity, what would you all consider a "Complete" British units list in the timescale of Wargame? If there were to be a list with the same amount of units (if possible) as the US and USSR lists except entirely composed of UK units, what would you all like to see?

Hmmmm... Good question, this shall have to be a work in progress.

I did a thread asking for help creating a Eurocentric NATO army deck early on and one of the problems I encountered I think applies to this topic.

Since the only Euro MANPADS used in the game is the godawful Blowpipe used by UK infantry did the UK ever develop a better system or did they switch to the American-made Stinger when it became available?

SAS used Stingers during the Falklands War. So I think the Brits went for US-made MANPADS ... at least until their Javelin (not to be mistaken with the US Javelin ATGM) entered service in the early 90's.
