I am bit surprised of the lack of the old FV432 tracked carriers for the brits. The Saracen was really olde worlde in the 80's. It would be nice to see it in the game in the future. Or even some of its many variants, the wombat 120 mm variant, the swingfire version and the version with the scimitar 30mm rarden cannon.
Actually, the variant with the 30mm Rarden canon is ingame, under the name "
FV432 Rarden" (in the "Vehicles" category). It is an infantry support vehicle, not a transport.
We've made sure that every nation got at least one wheeled & one tracked transport (Fuchs/Marder ; VAB/AMX-10P ; Saracen/Spartan ; SKOT/TOPAS ; ...). Some like the US only have tracked ones, while the Soviet have more different types because such were their doctrines.
Now, as for the UK and the "standard" transport
FV432, what would have been the point?
FV432 would have be even less armored, much slower and not much better armed than the
Spartan. As you said,
Saracen is pretty old (even if it did a striking come back in Northern Ireland in the 70's and may be even 80's), so we'd rather give the British a more modern tracked one, the
Spartan, to even things.
Really suprised you picked a FV432 with a Rarden over a Warrior to be quite honest. The FV510 was already the standard IFV by the early 80s and the Rarden equiped FV432s did not last long in British service and quite a few were converted into mortar carrriers.
