Tube arty is the advantage for NATO arty IMHO.

But if you really, really want to use MLRS - the biggest obstacle is ensuringing you are at or farther than your minimum range - because if you are spamming MLRS the counter your opponent will use is moving tanks fast in close to get under the min range (since if the opponent is spamming MLRS they have limited tanks in normal matches (not the 3000 per player matches).

The other counter is a couple unspotted tube arty units which will stun MLRS...otherwise known as counterbattery fire.

But yeah rocket arty has advantages and disadvantages. Its advantages is a large supression radius and shorter (relative to Pact Arty)minimum range, its disadvantages (as is typical with all rocket arty) is its min range and logistics away from the FOB

I use MLRS all the time, and I honestly have no problem with the logistics. I have 4 jupiters supplying them (two groups of two, that switch off going back to the FOB for resupply) and 2 jupiters can support about 5 volleys from a single MLRS. By the time I've shot all five, the other two jupiters are usually back from the FOB and ready to take over.

MLRS after so many changes are way betteer than smerches point for point invested. They use less supply, they have better minimal range, they reload WAAAAAAY faster. And smerches lost their damage 7 ratio.

I abandoned smerches completely but MLRS are still quite good.

Price, ammo consumption, reload time, big minimal rane.

That said, a pair of them can turn the tide of a battle in 3v3 and 4v4.
