That's very surprising because I've seen multiple times heavy tanks being spotted first in the middle of medium tanks...

Could you describe your testing method please ?

That ? It's not a method, it's an objective. Then he describe the results. The method is missing.

Method (having 2 w:ee accounts):
Luchs, wiesel, sheradon, Jaguar, Leo2, MILAN Inf arranged in this order (then another order) close to each other on a line, facing towards the direction of the approaching recons (vertical on the arranged line). All units set to hold fire.
In 4 surrounding situations: open field, in a forrest (dense cover) with a straight woods front line at different depths, once at the edge of the forrest but in cover, once around 20m behind the edge inside the forrest and once ard 50m inside the forrest.

One PACT PT-71 (good optics) or one PT-90 (very good optics) mechanized Recon unit aproaching in 90° direction to the center of the arranged short line of NATO units from an open field with direct line of sight. Each approach in small steps and waiting a short period of time if the recon sees something new.

Findings:
- relevant differences in unveiling range to recons between normal armored vehicels, recon vehicels (better camouflage) and infantry (best camouflage)
- no difference at all between the size values of armored vehicels (the tiny wiesel beeing unveiled at the same range as the big Leo2)

If somebody observed big Tanks beeing unveiled befor smaller armored vehicels in gameplay, it must be due to the fact that theyve been firing befor the others (because of their extended fire range). And as we all know, units unveil themselves as soon as they start firing because of the muzzle flash and bang of the weapon.

I've double checked and I confirm what have been said : There are only 3 detection range : infantry, recon and everything else.

And I've found thet veterancy on recon doesn't change anything as well.

This gives a good boost the the AMX RC :)

So in other words the size of a recon vehicle doesnt matter when determining if its detected or not? How come that recon jeeps are so hard to detect when hiding in a hedgerow?

Edit: Could it be that vehicles have the same chance to be seen on open terrain but size counts whenever they are hiding (blinking)?

No, Accuracy vs moving target = accuracy vs static target.
If you mean that a vehicle could be detected faster if it moves I havent tested.

The chance to be detected is the same for every recon but as soon as you shoot you get detected. Jeep are hard to detect because they never fire.
I've tested in ligh medium, heavy and no cover : the distance at which you get detected changes but all recon are always detected at the same distance.
