you should always have recon with your main attack force

Recon should work behind enemy lines far at front of your main force.
Recon should move slowly to their observing post and then sit there hour or two waiting if enemy reveals its location by moving.

For a recon you should give 30min for every kilometer what they need to travel and few hours for every post. So easily recon unit takes 6 hours to work 3-4 kilometer wide area.

If your really looking for a M3, the best youll find is the PT-85 or 90 because you get a real missile there, no autocannon though.

Your much better off just buying a pair of UAZs or recon infantry in their place and leaving the offense to your actual force.

The first thing im going to knock out if im playing you is that 80 point recon because 1. Its easy to kill quickly, and 2. Odds are you only have 1, 2 (which is the equiv of me killing a heavy in points).

Bradleys are just terrible in general. So overpriced.
I have yet to see a good ATGM/Autocannon combination that isn't overpriced as hell like BMP-2/Bradley series. Starships don't count because you don't get them for the ATGMs.

Only benefit I can see in M3 is mix of good optics and long range ATGM.

Thats the case for most armed recons though, if you are lookig for pure spotters there are only two real options: Jeeps and recon infantry, because they are cheap, numerous and easy to hide. Losing a Mi-9. PT-x, BRM-1, etc hurts about the same.

Does anyone know of a Pact recon unit similar to the M2 Bradley CFV? I'm looking for something with a solid anti-infantry and anti tank capability. Thanks.

With that spec it sounds like pact infantry is your best friend, as was already noted by Misfit :)

You could also try the vydra for this mission, though it doesn't really have anti-tank capability. With Pact you get much more speed (vydra is 85km/h and skots are faster) than with the bradleys, so you have to play differently. Rush close and pop the helpless targets with surprise.

bradley is a FANTASTIC recon vehicle to go with ur main force unfortunately the closest pact equivalent is the PT-90

How so? Reckon should sit in cover with their good optics.

Bradley scout is so expensive and good that I'm too afraid to actually scout with it (or order it in the first place)

The Bradley (not recon) with the rangers (aa missile and recon) is a nice combo. Kind of a jack of all trades. But to be honest wouldn't get it for competitive matches, more for the fun.

I find all pact recons with good optics to be garbage, Good optics is insufficient at spotting. The better PT variants got very good optics, but the price is quite high.

Even for fun, it's costly ; I played a lot with the M2A1 IFV with Rangers, and you end up with the following problems :

1) Very costly combo.
2) Fragile units ; the Bradley isn't sturdy, and 5-man squads are too easily wiped out when fired at.
