I use the MBT-70s, Cheftains, and Sheridans. Put the Cheftains in the front and let their armor soak it up, and then 4 M551A1 Sheridans on each flank, and there goes the BMP fun. If I'm feeling happy I'll send the MBT-70s in to mop it up. Expensive as hell, but fun.

i use a smattering of m60a3s, amx30bs, and maybe a leo 2a4 as a starting force. Force the enemy to focus on my infantry vehicle formations running towards them, keep the m60s mobile, let the amxs come out and sit stationary to rain accurate death. The leo2a4 is for special occasions.

** OH and starships for the odd bmp/APC rush.

Im still not entirely satisfied with the M8AGS' performance, but i have to use it more to see if its stacks up.

A bunch of leopard 1A2/3 to take some shots, an Abrams to effectively do some dammages, 2 Sheridan to be less ridiculous at long range and 2 AGS to troll some more.

What about Challengers? Are they worth the points?

I use them, they have a decent gun and can take a lot of punishment, but die horribly against highly mobile ATGMs if not supported.

I don't understand all the love for Starships and Sheridans. They have a bad gun and a bad ATGM and a halfway decent autocannon. They're the Mi-2 Gniewosz of the ground, capable of everything yet bad at all of it. The upgraded Sheridan's ATGM is at least tolerable, I guess...

I like the Abrams. Good accuracy on the move, enough armor to take an ATGM even on the side. Excellent against light tanks, medium tanks and most heavies, will pop dedicated ATGM units in a single shot, really the only thing it can't fight well is top end heavies but since everyone seems to be under the mistaken belief that they're useless you probably won't see them! If you do, get some ATGM's for support. The Challenger is probably a nice alternative depending on your taste.

No, you still can't charge at a wall of ATGM's across an open field with any tank but why would you? Plenty of terrain everywhere. Ignoring tanks altogether is, I think, a huge mistake. You try charging those AML 90's or VTS1's at my T-80's. No, they won't be blindly charging at your missiles. A force centered on ATGM's is excellent against tanks in certain conditions but it's very inflexible, barely capable of any assault and easy to incapacitate with artillery and overwhelm through local superiority.

Well, I think sheridans are enjoyed by people because they have an OK ATGM, they're pretty fast and they're arty resistant whilst being quite cheap.

However, the starship is a whole different thing. The ATGM is crap and in my whole time of using it I've only ever seen it hit 5 times (1 was from point blank range). It's the combination of the cannon and the autocannon that makes it so good. It's excellent with dealing against carrier rushes, as the autocannon and the cannon tear up the APC's, whilst the cannon also kills infantry very fast with HE 4. Costing only 40 you can afford a few of them and man do they do their job well. You honestly don't expect it to be good, but it's just the exception to the rule.

You could get an AMX-30 Valorise for 5 points more. (or the basic AMX-30 for the same price but I wouldn't) It's much faster, its gun is in a whole other league and the autocannon is more accurate too.

Many people think that, except one HUGE flaw in the amx-30B series: The gun and the autocannon can't fire at the same time. The result is that you always use your cannon and that the autocannon is only used as emergency AA.
If it could then I'd recommend the amx-30B over starships, however it's not the case so the starship remains the king of stopping infantry pushes.

That's interesting. I didn't know the AMX and the Starship have that difference, though overall I still wouldn't go as far as to recommend the Starship. :P
