Just a steady, progrtessive push toward your friends should be enough

Just prior to linking up I ran into 8 ZSU-57's. They ripped my helo's apart. The 6-8 T34-85's with them along with some BMP1's that where in front of me knocked out most of my 12 T62's.
I'm not going to waste any more time on it. If you do somehow manage to link up, you wont have anything left to fight with.

well you should have had some recon.

When i played it it was fairly tight, but if you play well it is completely doable.

4. Avoid using infantry
The AI is not restricted by LOS and can see all your units, this means that trying to hide infantry is useless. Infantry can still be usefull in the middle of forrests but that is about it.

Is this true? Can others confirm this? This would force me to completely change my defending

Yes the odd time that I play against AI I have noticed this as well. No point in "hiding" units from the AI it can see everything anyway.

Just another reason to play MP against other humans.....

I think its not so much that they can see you no matter what... if you have tanks hidden in the woods for example, their ATGMs cant lock on to you, so the unit cant see you. The AI does know where you are though.

I did. Both were destroyed just prior to finding the ZSU's. Replacements had not yet arrived as you don't have the time to wait for them.

Unless "helo rushing" which I successfully did against the AI a few times in the campaign, helo's should not be moved forward unless every hedge/forest is cleared of AA first. In W:EE I don't move my helos around very much. They're not as agile as their real-world counterparts so I tend to use them as stationary ATGM platforms that more often than not end up ambushing the opponent rather than going out on the prowl.

It's not true. AI just has huge amount of scouts available at all times. It's still a good idea to hide in buildings and forests, though.

Do you make good use of supply trucks? It may seem counter-intuitive to stop for repairs and rearming when you need to rush, but actually if you stop with your force every now and then, you have fresh troops in top shape again and can push onwards, instead of being weakened while you have to stop and wait for reinforcements.

Move your supply trucks just behind your main force and park them behind your fighting tanks and missile units, and they will be repairing and rearming even as they work hard to butcher any incoming threats. I think supplies are just as important in solo as MP, for one thing you'll want your veteran units to survive to the next battle.

I am fairly certain the AI can see your units where ever they are, might be "cheating" might not, Eugen will probably have to confirm or deny that to be certain. Regardless when using infantry against AI, trash the golden rule of infantry "When hiding take them out of their APC's/IFV's". I think from some tests I ran, that the AI cant detect the difference between loaded and unloaded apc's, so you just wait until the last possible second to unload the infantry and the AI wont see it coming.

I struggled immensely with this mission too and tried hoth approaches - slow and methodical and rushing. Neither worked.

After the initial rush to your spawn location I tried sending units to the spwn locations to the rhs of the map and that helped a bit - put some atgm infantry in the trees near the bridge crossing. Then, back from my start location, pushed straight up the road, took out the guys in the building on the lhs and kept going to the first fob I encountered. Resupplied and brought up the helos with a scout. Straight up the road from that fob, towards the bridge but slightly left of it and before it, a group of enemies congregate. Use he helos and the artillery to slap them around. Send some tanks, infantry and supply vehicles to defend the two bridges crossing just ahead of the fob. Then, from the fob, go left across the bridge. Aross the bridge turn right, ease up through the buildings and forest, using artillery to clear the enemy infantry on the point of that little island across the bridge to the right. Then resupply at he fob across the bridge. Then send your tanks, helos, vehicles and supply vehicles up the lhs of the map to smack the enemy artillery at the top lhs of the map. AA along for the ride. After that, swing right across the bridge to your buddies, rescue their asses butimmediately put your unitsin he forest just next to the bridge. You now take over the remaining units of your buddies and use them to secure the bridge to the south, put them all in the forest with scout, AA, and supply vehicles. A few waves later, and all the losses you can stomach, you win. Barely.

It helps to leave units at every major junction you pass through. Tanks or vehicles or infantry in buildings. Always have supply vehicles with them. Try to have scouts just behind them (so enemy range finds your active units first).
It's not essential to control the spawn points on the rhs of the map butit helps. Once in the north with your friends you only have to control the two bridges, choke points, and the approach from the right which you can do from the fob over that side with just a few units, infantry atgm and a vehicle say.

You may need a few goes to get the feel of it but that's what worked for me in the end - and I tried tons of times and lots of different approaches.

Please excuse the typing. Ipad keyboard. Hope that helps.

I'm not convinced the AI can see you anywhere on the map. There have been plenty of times in SP when I've blown away tanks from just below the crest of a hill using other tanks or just infantry. Also, I've seen enemy tanks turn around and move away from my CV when I had moved it out its original position to a safer spot in the trees.
