They seriously need a a buff in the aiming department. Before anyone says L2P or no they don't. They do but not in the moving target category that's fine a moving target is harder to hit. What I'm talking about is them firing on a non moving target, a target that is moving slower than a snail. How many games iv seen a helo hovering not moving, my missile system stops. Takes 20 ish seconds to aim fires all four missiles and has not hit it once.

Eugen you need to put in the game if a target is not moving when that missile is fired that missile should have a 100% acc but decreases when the helo starts moving in the time frame it is taking to aim.

I find this happens with all AA missile systems in game on both sides.

And yet I never have issue with air units when I've got a few AA systems in their zone of operation. I'm not even really scared of rushes because they die so quickly and getting extra counters is rather cheap, even for PACT (who have AAA).

Even stationary targets will get misses due to operator error & other factors such as abstracted counter-measure systems etc... Also while they might be stationary in game as the player hasn't specifically moved them, we should also consider that the pilot would in reality take evasive action to avoid in incoming missile rather than dutifully hovering completely stationary. Thats hard to model but a little imagination when looking at the odds of a hit is necessary.
Plus it would be no fun if they hit all the time

Used Veteran units and they still can't hit a stationary target. Must be having bad luck. lol

They don't always hit. I've seen Buk M1's miss from time to time. In general, though, it's quite a rare occurance.

True!! Check accuracy level of the unit. If below 5 its crap so misses more as optics are poor need recon to asist...

AA fails for 3 reasons:

1. Not enough Vet.
2. Not enough Supplies
3. Poor Base Accuracy / Range units were used.

1 & 2 need no explanation.

3. Any non Stinger, Roland, Chap, BUK, Igla, Tung unit. (Yes, flakpanzer and some other PACT units like STROP are decent, but I'm speaking generally here. There is no excuse not to use missile AA only units. Flak is TOW bait. IMHO)*

*I also have a weakness for NATO Airborne AA. Picking off that Mi-9 or Mi-2 can be critical at the start of a game.

In general, their hit rate is superior to helicopters' hit rate.

TIPS:
- Always have a supply truck next to SAMS to resupply them
- More SAMS = your chances of hitting helicopters become greater.

Some people act like AA 1 vehicle covering a certain area should automatically take care of all their "aerial problems" in that area.

Overall, I think it's clearly the SAMS who have the upper hand here...by a long shot. It's a real pain in the *** losing your expensive Apache or Havoc to something that comes out of nowhere, without any warning.
