In general for all online games:

Noobs only=>Host is not a noob

No [unit here] =>70% chance that the host infact uses said unit.

No spamming [unit here]=>40% chance that the host spams said unit, 50% chance that if you field more than 2 of said unit you get yelled at for spamming, and 10% chance that your computer catches on fire forcing you to call the fire department and lose the game, and get called a noob as well.

So in conclusion: 10% of all computer related fires are caused by joining No spamming [unit here] games. Think of your house the next time you go to join a game.

GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

+1...
Never joined a noobs only game so can't say about that one...rest of it is damn true...

I was just playing a 2 vs 2 high point game as NATO on a small map.
Before the game the host made a deal with my team that if we don't MLRS then they don't SMERCH.
And then they played a game filled with Normal Arty anyway while we had no arty at all...
We luckily won the game when we were 16 points away from losing(my partner got their last command so it wasn't a draw).
That game had me on my toes.

I'd also leave a lobby with 4/8 all on one side as a clan. Trying to co-ordinate 3 other pubbies against TS and Vent is not my idea of fun.

I direct you to PandeX's TS3 server. He's set it up for public use for the Wargame community. Server is located in Denmark, but I'm US east coast, and have no problems. There are usually at least a few friendly people around looking for a game.

Hope its okay i borrow the thread.

I have set up a TS server for use for EU people, it is free, good ping, and even if you want a permanent room for you friends and you. that can be easily arranged.

Also... You might have fun playing against a clan, or joining one for that matter. If you're really that frightened I guess we'll just have to deactivate our clan tags... Will that help?

W/D/L is a silly stat becasue it doesn't take into account opponent skill and lobby games aren't meant to be "serious". I often use national decks in lobby games, for example, and I'd hate to have a W/D/L stat hanging around my head for these games when I'm not really trying very hard. Much better is Elo. I'm not really sure why more people don't play ranked games to be honest.

Because it's sometime hard to face the fact that you suck. Blizzard understood it with elo arena in WoW, so starcraft II is in League for ranked games.

But I agree, elo tend to be more representative of the skill.
A player saying "gl hf" at the start of the game frighten me much more than a lvl 59. (It's the "gl hf" curse. most players using it are skilled players, and only a "u2!" can save you from an horrible defeat !)

I have a main clan [FFR], but when people are leaving because seeing too many of us in the same team, I've got also a secondary clan where i'm alone [Aime les poneys] (dig ponies), to make people less scared.

And honestly, i sometime join clan battle because most of the team what clan do is brainless rush with teamspeak. With a little communication with your team during the deployment phase, it's not THAT hard to win such games. (okay, your mate have to be at least a little skilled. For example "herp full arty derp" is useless in a team.)

I honestly consider using it from now on. Maybe I have a 5% chance of scaring my enemies so much that they'll surrender early on.

GL + HF used to be noble gestures...until they foolishly stepped into the alliance with the backstabbing GG.

True enough, there's many clans that don't have a good grasp of the tactics yet or can't react very effectively. In one game I was facing 2 guys in a clan, with a teammate that had a significantly lower level and experience. The enemy spawned lots of arty. I attacked their base and managed to kill the last command vehicle. Not all games against clans like this are quite as easy though, as using voip and the generally improved team play is a big boon to the team. But the counter to that, joining a clan, or even building a regular team from a bunch of friends, is an approach that is proven to work. And you get to enjoy a lot of fun team play.

TBH I sometimes like to split my clan on opposing sides when we're playing public games, partly to counter any imbalance, or not to scare off players. But you do lose some of the team play experience with that, and sometimes you want to go on a particular side because you are working on a deck or something, and if you are just fooling around and trying some new units and so on, your play isn't that strong for the game anyway and that might be a proper approach for public games when you play with your clan.

Player with novel nickname on your team: He most likely won't reply to teamchat in english. Not even "no no no" when trying to talk him away from pulling off a suicide command heli rush or buy 8 Abbots.
