the guys who not all in have time to respond.

You have a closer spawn point. Take advantage of that...

If you don't spend most of your money until after you've scouted what your enemy is doing you again end up at big disadvantage vs a regular player who takes land and digs in on an income advantage while you don't have any units.

I agree this is probably the least-bad response when you have reason to think you're playing someone who is going to rush you, but I've experience of doing it and it puts you well behind and out of position against normal play.

Correction - most people who bought it wanted chess, and they have since moved on to other games.

Most people here, like playing rocket-paper-scissors and think that it's the height of strategy.

And after that, you claim that you are not a troll? Ad hominem attacks are not the height of argumentation!

I'm not sure what you mean by that.

The problem is rather that attacking is hard and usually incurs greater losses. If I have minimal units on the field the enemy will be able to secure more points at the start, either because I just don't feel comfortable moving out, or because he will win the initial skirmishes. I will then either have to attack him to win some of them back, or I will have to accept having an income disadvantage that will increasingly weaken me as time goes on.
