Hey!

Some of you gamers might know Advanced Tactical Center (It was pretty popular for BF2, download here: http://www.playprepared.com/). It is a tool to prepare battle plans. So I created a gamepack for our game.

It includes:

- All the game maps on satellite view from NATO perspective. [note: Still trying to find a way to get rid of the UI but keeping the objectives before including PACT-side view, so for now I'm using Brundle's screens -thanks-]

- Every nation flag (In order to help differentiate players: Telling who is what flag, and who starts where)

- NATO units symbols for each general unit category in two different colours to represent hostile and friendly units. [will be fine tuned]

In order to get the gamepack, go to "manage gamepacks" -> "import" and type the code.

What it looks like (if done rough)

Version 0.3 for now. Code is: 66CB6F

Incoming:
- Upgraded maps to show from each starting point of view.
- UI-free maps.
- Units-free maps.
- Better national flags

By the ways, would it be possible for the devs to tell me how to get rid of the UI, unit symbols, but to keep the Objectives' names?

Feedback/suggestions would be welcome.

[edit: New version: 0.4. code still the same 66CB6F. Added non siege maps (Blitz, eye of the storm, etc...)

+1

Great job on the game pack. This is a handy tool for discussing battleplans that are slightly more complex than "I'm going to take Charlie" :D

Hnnngh, this is the sort of thing I want as a feature of a game, though. ;.;

Just to know:

- Do you think I should reduce the size of the unit cards?
- Are the cards colours ok?
- Are they clear enough? Unit type is written as you mouse-over the icon on the bottom left.
- Do you think I should add more?

I didn't get to fiddle with it too much but it seemed to me very difficult to identify the unit icons. Maybe remove any text that is on them in favor of a more legible symbol? (or maybe I am misunderstanding what you mean by "The unit type is written...")

Either way, that would be my only complaint, the unit symbols aren't very clear.

I'm talking about those: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_Military_Symbols_for_Land_Based_Systems

So:
Command is the square with the the line on top.
Air command is the same with two triangles
Supply is like command but line is down the bottom
Fobs are the symbol of fuel + maintenance.
Etc...

Specials:
- Airborne infantry has a parachute on the icon.
- I called the symbol for mortars "close range artillery" so it can represent mortars and buratinos.
- I only put one type of combat helicopter for all of them.
- Anti-tanks are a triangle, as NATO represents, but most of them in-game include the "armoured" circle.

Right, the NATO symbols are fine, as I am familiar with them and are easy enough to remember. I'm just saying the icons you have there are hard to read. Maybe low rez or something, I can't quite figure out the problem. Perhaps if they were just a bit larger or higher contrast?

I am new to ATC, so maybe I'm just ignorant of how to get it to look right (resize or zoom options?). And it's really not a huge problem. What you have here is still usable for planning. But it is the first thing I noticed.

And again, thanks for putting in the work to such a handy tool for the Wargame community.

The only kind of pictures available are .JPG or .GIF that tend to have the colours spreading into each other, and ATC converts "pure" white into transparent, this causes quite low quality work.

I'll try to make the symbols a bit thicker.
