are you largely okay with unit allocation limits? point distributions and units costs? map designs? flamethrowers? autocannons? ATGMs? recon? rocket artillery? asymmetric balance? victory conditions? peoples' freedom to play exactly as they wish, including spammily?

I am, and I'd like one thread, just one lonely thread on this god forsaken forum, which isn't about all the things that you hate about one unit or another.

So in this thread please, just post your favorite thing about the game :)

I'll start

one of my many favorite aspects of WEE is the great multitude of potential playstyles availible and the deck-building necessary and complimentary to the depth of tactical expression gameplay offers

Nice idea.

Loving the low point games with my friends.

When one of us loses to a new tactic or unit we've not seen used in a particular way before, it's just another interesting problem to solve.

I mostly love the fact this game exists at all - I used to do tabletop micro armour back in the 70s and this captures it almost perfectly.

Great topic :)
I enjoy the game very much. Both campaigns and multi games are interesting. 3vs3 with friends due to different styles of play, new ideas and unlocked units are my favorites. This game (and players) offers something new in each game.

Agreed. Part of the fun is watching the replay afterwards and figuring out want went wrong (or right) and where to improve.

I very, Very, VERY much like that total absence of any base building. I really hate having to invest at least half of my awareness into resource management, upgrading, whatever.

I like the fact that there are no special abilities.

I like having an RTS that deserves the S in the name. No "oh well, seems like I build that SCV 1 second early, meaning that my 3rd marine comes 5s late, well hello zerglings, you win, I lose.".

I enjoy the game, especially the multiplayer. Grinded the solo for the stars and the story, but still enjoyed it.

Game mechanics are great, balance issues are only made by abusing certain aspects of the game, but overall, an extremely pleasant game.

I'm okay with game design! It's challenging; lots of ways to win (and lose). It got a nice dynamic, matches usually have different phases of changing intensity. The pace and scale also facilitates teamplay.

Having an internal locus of control, I attribute most outcomes to my own ability or incompetence. This generalizes to the game as well.

Pulling off a grand flank, penetrating with APC's, downing an Apache with a hidden Tung or violently chasing someone that thought they could simply advance on my terriotory: all are great moments.

This tread will probably soon be hijacked by mr. "this could have been a great game but SMERCH\VTS1\T55 etc", but until then, lets give W:EE some deserved acclaim.

I love the fact that almost every aspect of warfare can be implemented in game from massed infantry charges to deep infiltration with small strike forces, almost everything is viable, aside slight balance issues which are to be expected little needs to be added, apart from some fast British IFV's my fusiliers need fire support damn it

Nice topic!
A great feature of the game is also the Deck creation, which allows fully customized forces, and i'm sure everyone has his little secret units in ^^ or his beloved decks :)

For ex, to increase the accuracy of the game, i've sorted my units by country in a sort of nations decks, for now i have these decks nearly completed :

NATO
NATO - Armed Response (mix)
U.S. - United States Armed Forces (USAF)
RFA - Bundeswehr
Fr - Armée de Terre (ground) & Armée de l'Air (full inf+helo)

Warsow Pact
Cccp - Sovetskaïa Armia (my deadliest deck with the USAF i think)
Poland - Siły Zbrojne Rzeczy. Polskiej (dont ask me the meaning, i used the PL army name from wikipedia :) )

So now when i open the deck menu that rocks!! - mhhh which army will i control today.. mh mhh .. ^^^

Customised decks

Haha, I have something similar:

- A "general" deck for usual competitive play
- A spec ops/fast reaction forces for special team games where I spend my time harassing
- A "First line of defence" that has lots of survivability but little mobility.
- One for every nation.

Agree that overall the implementation of this game currently feels right. I enjoy shutting down the spam attempts, the lack of zone-control victory conditions (though this could be a fun addition), even love the drawn out stale mates and having to get creative to break these.

I cringe at the suggestions I read here and at the Steam forum calling for LOS view rings, waypoint paths, automatic troop formations etc. Without these, this has the feel of a true sandbox game with such a clean interface and no sci-fi looking overlays ruining it all.

Love it, recommending it to all my RTS friends!
