I urge everyone to try it instead of creating 6k point .

as low points as possible - the game builds from intense infantry battles, then armour comes in then end game you
get full combined arms. The game plays out in stages and honestly feels a lot more satisfying. More happens on a tactical level and more happens on a strategic level.

Give it a go.

Low points are the best IMO. I really hope that the new victory conditions coming down the pipe allow to manually increase the points needed though as they are too low now.

I find a pretty good (~2v2/3v3) Destruction game comes from 1000 pts(-) / player and 1500pts(+) victory points/player. You really feel like you've earned a victory when you get to the point limit. :)

I told them this throughout the closed beta and pre-release, but did they listen? Pah! I think 1000 pts per player is a lot more fun than 1500!

Personally I hate low points because if you mess up even in the slightest you have little to fight back with. 6000 point games look and feel fantastic, plus they let you experiment with hordes of your favourite units. 6000 point 1v1's and 2v2's are pretty hectic and I am not so keen on them, even more so with the 1v1's because trying to figure out what sort of force your opponent is going to take is nerve wracking.

I haven't played with the huge numbers (and likely never will), as I prefer a more tactical approach where units lost is a major blow to your army, instead of numberless spamfests. Too many units and skill becomes diluted. That being said, I do like to see a few of the more powerful units in the game, and if the point total is too low people tend to avoid them. I also want to see the maps used to their full extent -- they are huge, and with too few points, you're only going to see action in a few parts of it.

I find 1500-2000 per player in 1vs1 is the sweet spot, personally. You get a decent number of units being pumped out -- though nothing outrageous -- a nice look to battles, and your skills at micro-managing multiple fronts is often put to the test (though, again, nothing too outrageous).

I might try something even lower in the future to emulate a small-scale battle or "border skirmish." When the map editor is released, being able to create smaller maps to fit these types of battles sure will be fun!

One day I'd love to play against you as seem to have exactly the same mentality as me. Maybe sometime in 2014 I'll be at your skill level and we can schedule a match.

:D

WIth the current mapsizes in 1v1 and 2v2 I feel 1500 per player is perfect. In larger games I prefer less points to avoid 1-2 players spamming.

I tend to play 2v2 and I find 2500 or 3000 points to be ideal. 25 min time limit works too. Any higher and the game just drags on and on long after it's been already decided.

1500 per player is perfect imo, a little lower is fine too but having more then 1500 per player is absurd, although it does tend to make people want to spam arty, in which case my infantry just run around in their APCs right towards the enemy base rofl.
