We are hosting a community event for new players of Wargame to get everyone onboard and in touch with the community.

The plan. This is very freeform but we could do:

1) Q&A sessions. Ask about the game, what to click to do X, what unit does Y, how do I counter Z, etc.
2) Co-op games. Especially good if you haven't figured out the game and the units yet, play against an AI that is sufficiently easy and get some hands-on-help from veterans about what to take and where to put it on the map.
3) Multiplayer games with the community. Just get to play with/against a nice bunch of people and don't get kicked this time :)

Planning thread at viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10330

This will take place this Thursday (that's today!), at 19:00 GMT (so 8 pm UK time). You will need to add people to your friends list beforehand or come to the community teamspeak:

IP: 78.157.97.10
Port: 25210
No password required
Location: Denmark

It's easiest to find the folks participating if you use Teamspeak 3. We'll be mostly talking in English but I think there's some people around who know eg. German, Finnish, etc. On the server, locate the PLF Area and jump to room named "New Players Lobby". Speak up and ask if anybody is up for a game.

If you don't use teamspeak, you'll need to have people on your friendslist, and be patient until some of them are available. Pay attention to the ingame chat (the little box on the right that sometimes has the white number).

If you are coming, please let us know which id we can add you with ingame. Also a short introduction about yourself could be helpful.

You can add me as varis or varis2000 ingame. I've been playing Wargame for 5 months, pretty much from the start of the early access beta. I'm also the clan leader of the People's Liberation Front, which is one of the oldest and most active clans in Wargame.

Here's my two cents for the event:

This way, everybody knows when it'll start whereever one lives ...

I'll try to participate if I can get the time on Thursday.
Introducing myself: 34, Military History & Militaria buff since I've red the Tuniques Bleues in my childhood. I have a particular devotion for Napoleonic light cavalry, which tend to show in my play-style: I can play a game without calling in a single tank, using mostly wheeled vehicles/transport & choppers.
Which doesn't mean I win very often, but at least I've got the thrill of the charge ... ;)

I can play the game ... but I'm rather using a "fun" deck than an optimized one.
Once, during a test phase, using my developer super-powers ;) , I've even made a combined NATO/WP deck with every wheeled vehicles in the game: then, I had Zhalos fighting alongside my AMX-10 RC, and Spetsnaz riding into battle in their BTR-70 with their Légion FAMAS + VAB comrades!
Was cool ... I'd called that deck "Hell on Wheels".

I do this very often as well, it's an amazing challenge but I don't lose that much ^^

Ah sorry I won't be able to make it. Still on holidays at that date :( But I'm sure MadMat will be able to share a lot of expertise about the game. I mean, that's like a developer Q&A!
