How about a game mode which the players can only choose units up to a specific year? Like say 1975, 76, ect.. That way you can play scenarios with more realistic units.

Another quick suggestion regarding unit limits.

The current method of unit limits seems a little silly to me in the way that different versions of each unit have completely separate limits (eg. M1IP and M1A1). Of course this is to stop people spamming, such as only using the highest of each class (ie. only using M1A1 and ignoring the others). However it may be a positive change to introduce the caps across similar chassis and increase the costs to the units remaining for more expensive units (ie. 20 M1 deployable, for example, yet each single M1A1 takes two from this rather than having its own cap; 20 being a example number rather than a suggested change). Of course I have explained it here in an overly-complicated manner, but an adaptation of this in a more intuitive style may be worth discussing.

Again, I don't know if this is positive to the game as a whole but its worth throwing my ideas out there just in case.

Good idea about nukes.
Good news first. Every minute you get 1000 points no matter now many objectives you hold. But there is bad news too. Tactical nukes will fall randomly on map after 10 minutes. One minute - one nuke.

Ok how is that realistic? Or balanced? Or a good gameplay idea? Look at NoHope mod for WiC. It got killed with its main feature - nukes.
They (as any op weapons) make other weapons/tactics redundant and thus the gameplay is not enjoyable in the long run.
