but even if thy made an add- on for W:EE for desert storm, playing on Iraqi and american sides would be cool, and it would follow W:EE since Iraq used mostly pact units.

Awesome......and so who would play on the UP side? Everyone and their dog would be playing the US (OP) side........

Does anyone even think before posting here? sigh......

You'd god damn better believe I'd play as Iraq in WEE. Having hopelessly outmatched forces in games is great. There were TONS of fantastic scenarios in WinSPMBT that had you playing as everything from UN peacekeepers in VABS to Hezbollah militants to US Heavy armor brigades.

Having the chance to reenact famous battles as OPFOR forces and doing your damnedest to fare better than they did with the benefit of historical hindsight is fantastic.

Has anybody mentioned tank transporters yet? ;)

In the first post there is a bullet point suggesting sling ropes for heavy lift helicopters to haul around light vehicles. I doubt this will be added since you could sling around a command vehicle to the enemies territory and helicopter command vehicles would be pretty much useless.

well that's not correct at all, yeah, you can transport a cv to the enemy territory but you must think that you are sending at least 325 points to the enemy territory (mi-26+CV), a huge, hvy and slow helo with high risk of being shot down, then you need to unload the cv spending time... and if the enemy comes you must wait to load the cv again and run away, probably you will need that helo all the time close to the cv . i personally would send a cheap OH-58/S with some stingers and minigun, thats all! while if you have a command helo, you can take off directly and run away with probably time to run away even from AA helos. the command helo costs 300 points (at least 25 points cheaper) is smaller than any supply helo and also a bit faster. for me transport helos would be useful to carry SAM's to front line quickly or even a recon vehicle where the enemy doesn't imagine. if devs add features such as destroy bridges this would be very useful.

Personally I would have liked airborne operations.

Why oh why???? has the most bad ass looking helo in history been overlooked and not included in the game???? at least in its recon variant...that would compensate Pact's disadvantage in terms of reco imho.

I know its actual deployment date was well past the historical period the game covers...but it does not make it any easier...I feel a vacuum that's hard to fill...hehehe

Oh well...dream on![img]

There's a link with a couple of posts i made with "potential" in-game units for the K-50 (off the top of my head i believe it was confirmed on an earlier post by a member of EUG that it was considered its addition instead of the Mi-28 at some stage) and the K-52, not being the former justified due to the year in which it entered production. But hey...I had the spare time to play around with stats and thought you'd share some thoughts with me.

I tried quoting the messages above about vehicle lifting and then making CV helis pointless thread but my PC skills are letting me down: :?

I posted a couple of pages back on this and essentially i said that heavy helis should be multi roll, allowing troop transport, supply carry and also light vehicle carry at the touch of a button. On Vehicle carry, there are alot of light tanks and vehicles that are included in the games which in the environment that W:EE puts them in are not what they are designed for. For example the Sheridan light tank was designed to be air mobile meaning that its lower fighting power was offset by its vastly increased tactical mobility. In the game this would allow players not only to conduct limited airborne operations but also use vehicles properly and how they were intended.

I think it has been stated before but I couldn't see it in the first postand I think this is important enough to be there.

A sound signalling whenever someone joins a game room you're in. It is useful so that you may do other things while waiting for a room to fill without completely going AFK.

the timed game mode has been removed... now you can play with time in conquest mode but also would be nice if we have also a timed mode for normal maps and not only the conquest ones.

more control over supply units, not just auto resupply the units in the supply range automatically. my suggestion is, adding a couple buttons in supply units menu:
- Ammo
- Fuel & Repair
so when the supply units are placed close your units you select one of them or even both, then, the supply unit will start rearming or refuelling and repairing or both.

Also, would be nice if you can avoid supply a specific weapon when you disable it. for example you have mi8tv for inf transport but it is running out of fuel and you spent all its rockets, now the supplies has nearly gone and you only need fuel to transport some infantry, reloading all their rockets makes you loose many useful supplies for a damaged hvy tank or another more important thing.

the flame units nerf makes them pretty useless since they are so weak out of forests and in forest are now so easy to flank due to LOS limitation, if you want to use the flame out of the forest but with cover it needs too be close to the forest border and it is easily spotted. my suggestion is come back to the older one but nerf its range to 500m, so they will cover the forest but a smaller area than before and they have to move.
