You'll find that most maps in the 1v1 pool don't contain huge open spaces and there's plenty of place to hide. The only possible complaint might be for open range. Not to mention I'm more of a teamplayer.

Make it a 3v3 or 4v4 and I am in. I don't play the big maps 1v1, at least not with 1500. May would with 3000 each.
If I want to prove it, he would from the beginning know what I would do as pact, not really helpful to my cause.

You want to do a 3v3 against our team? Man, you're so on. My team consists of TheWord, me and ehh...well that's it honestly, but I'm sure we can find someone to stand in for a 3v3. Any takers for a 3rd on my side?

Here's an idea, if it ends up playing out even, play Open Range as PACT v PACT / NATO v NATO a few times each to see how things turn out, switching sides and of course recording your results.
