Smoke grenades for vehicles and flares for helis. Can they be successfully implemented in this game or will they break it?

There have been several propositions. I believe the game isn't balanced for that.

Considering how awful the atgm and aa missiles can be, all Eugen has to do is make some animations for them :D

In all seriousness though once they fix missile reliability to be realistic and not modeled after 1970s surplus weaponry I'd love to see some proper AA/ATGM countermeasures. I'm thinking something like the "Modern Warfare" mod for World in Conflict. Sort of a realism mod set in present day.

I would go for realism mod set in cold war era, as the armor values are better known for example.

If they implement a countermeasure system in WEE then I can GUARANTEE you that people will whine that it's additional micro that they don't want.

If you make it automatic then it's basically exactly the same as added miss chance on ATGM, which is exactly where we are now.

So no, even if it were possible I wouldn't want it in this game because it's won't be well received.

This is why I am for artillery delivered smoke/aerosols rounds that would work differently from individual "miss chance" type counter measures.

Smoke rounds would negate heavy armour and make arty + infantry OP.
