Yeah...about RUSE being balance. Nah. They released only a single balance patch after the beta, and the USA was widely considered to be better than other nations.

USA was just a good overall nation but was amazing at nothing.

Quote:
It had 7 factions that were totally different...
Some like US(Tank advantage), Germany(Air advantage) & Japan(AT advantage) were good to play overall...
Russia was used mainly for inf rushes...
Italy for tank rushes and amazing cheap proto tanks...
France had some cool arty and cheap high armor tanks...
UK had the most powerful air in game...

Here is something I had written long ago on the forums.

RUSE never seemed like a sim so that won't be needed if the next title is a RUSE follow up.
Eugen please this time balance the game as you like and do NOT take random opinion of people on forums. The existing RUSE is balanced enough.

1. Didn't mention RUSE
2. Didn't mention balance

Care to try again sport?

I did write a big huge "IF". RUSE fans for fact don't want a WW2 sim.
The point about balance was just a random thing. I just find RUSE balance severly pleasing so will prefer if Eugen just do a similar thing.

No. USA was considered the best due to having armored arty/great, cheap mobile AA/good, fast heavy tanks and cheap recon that auto-retreated.

Armoured arty is too costly to use in most situations, mobile AA gets hunted by fighters thus needing the use of armoured AA which is costly, and recon part is rather true. I have never heard anyone say US in RUSE is OP though. I heard that about Japan but never about US.
USA was never amazing at anything just like Germany or Japan.

If this should evolve into a RUSE discussion it will be moved to Off-Topic.

Working with new titles just means Eugene can not focus well enough for W:EE unless they want to release SDK in next patch so community can start improving and fixing game, what I think will never happen.

This is just a sad news for gamers. R.U.S.E development was dropped way too early and same seems to happen with W:EE. Few DLC and thats it, game dies because SDK isn't released with the game.

It could be just that W:EE never gained enough traction for that to be commercially lucrative. The solution in that case is to readjust the concept and work on a title that has more polish and more complete game features.

You don't need a full SDK to make balancing by the community, just some documentation (and a suitable mechanism) to describe what you need to edit and where to put it, maybe some tools to do any necessary binary packaging etc.

Yes, full SDK isn't needed (meaning tools to add new models or tweak models) but just simply having tools to re-set every existing unit value (speed, range, fuel, price, armor, optics etc) and game values (cover, recon, speed, range settings etc) it would give a lot for using existing unit types what Eugen could then add with DLC.

And best would be if modification would be just a XML file what can be transmitted to clients by server for quick testing and playing and every host running mod would be listed with mod name.

If community could build own mods using existing units and tweak every parameter, it would be enough.
